Department of Public Relations, Chandigarh Administration www.chandigarh.gov.in Press Release Chandigarh, November 13: The book titled ‘Rock Garden: A Vision of creativity’ authored by V.P Mehta and Nek Chand, the creator and director of the Rock Garden was released today by the Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court Hon’ble Justice Tirath Singh Thakur in the phase two of the Rock Garden. The Home Secretary Ram Niwas welcomed the hon’ble Chief Justice, hon’ble judges of Punjab and Haryana High Court and eminent persons from law fraternity. Home Secretary asserted, “Mr. Justice T.S Thakur, is himself a very creative person and is the right person to release this book by Nek Chand and Mr V.P Mehta. I salute Nek Chand and his creations which are celebrations in creativity.” Hon’ble Chief Justice T.S Thakur said “I feel privileged for being chosen for the release of the book. Nek Chand is a humble person and has proved with his creations that even stones can communicate. After my retrirement I would like to write a book on him. He further thanked Mr. Ram Niwas for holding many cultural events in Chandigarh”. V.P Mehta who is an M.A in English and did specialisation in history in Unites States has already penned down nine books in the past. He took one year to write down this book and most of photographs used in this picture are also clicked by him. The gathering was attended by the renowned judges like Justice J.S Khehar, Justice M.M.Kumar, Justice Jasbir Singh, Justice Hemant Gupta, Justice S.S Saron, Justice Permod Kohli, Justice Surya Kant, Justice Vinod K Sharma, Justice T.P.S Mann, Justice Mahesh Grover, Justice Rajesh Bindal, Justice A.N Jindal, Justice M.M.S Bedi, Justice Mohinder Pal, Justice Rakesh Kumar Garg, Justice K.S Alhuwalia, Justice Jaswant Singh,Justice Rajan Gupta, Justice Ajay Tiwari, Justice Jitendra Chauhan, Justice Augustine, Justice K.Kannan ,Justice Mehinder Singh Sullar, Justice Ram Chand Gupta Justice Gurudev and many advocates from law fraternity.
