Entry fees are not refundable unless the Society withdraws a class from the published schedule. Telephone and fax entries will not be accepted. Information from entry forms will be stored on computer and the name, address and details of entries will be published in the Catalogue; information about results may also be published and/or provided to the Press and Breed Societies for publication. Information about exhibitors and their animals may also be provided to DEFRA, Trading Standards, Depts. of County Councils, BCMS, SAC, Breed Societies and others having regulatory func- tions as well as the Society’s Veterinary Advisers. The making of an entry is irrevocable consent for the storage and disclosure of information in this way. Entry forms must be received at the Show Office no later than 1 May 2013. LATE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. REFUND OF ENTRY FEES. Applications for refunds must be made in writing to the Northumberland County Show Secretary no later than fourteen days after the Show and must be accompanied by a veterinary certificate or ministry order. Entry fees are not refundable if an animal is entered in a Class for which it is ineligible or if entries are withdrawn after the closing date of the relevant class. CORRECTNESS OF ENTRY FORMS. Exhibitors will be held responsible for the correctness of their entry form; if the exhibitor fails, when called upon by the Stewards or Officers of the Northumberland County Show, to prove the correctness of such entry, the entry may be disqualified and any award made to it will be forfeited. OWNERSHIP. All exhibits shall be the bona fide property of the Exhibitors PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE All livestock exhibitors should ensure they have adequate public liability insurance cover (suggested minimum of £5 million) SUBSTITUTION OF ENTRIES. Substitution of entries is not permitted after the closing date except when, after entry, an animal dies. The Exhibitor will then be permitted to substitute another entry, in the same class, without payment of any further fee, upon affording evidence of death and providing particulars of the substituted entry in time for the alteration to be made in the published catalogue. JUDGES. Judges are instructed to withhold prizes where the entry is not of sufficient merit and in awarding prizes they are further instructed to make their awards according to the relative merits of the exhibits for breeding purposes and not to take into consideration the present market value of the animals. Prizes will not be awarded to any unsound animal (lameness or other unsoundness from accidental injury shall not necessarily disqualify) and in every case where the Judges shall doubt as to the soundness or the correct age of any animal exhibited, they shall consult one of the Veterinary Officers and his decision shall be final. The Society reserves the right to substitute or add to the Judges shown in the schedule ANIMAL WELFARE. The Northumberland County Show expects all exhibitors to observe best practice at all times. LIVESTOCK HANDLING When livestock are taken to a show they are away from their normal farm environment and are exposed to different premises, sights and sounds which can make them potentially less predictable. The handler’s skills are paramount in putting them at ease and ensuring they are under control. Consequently livestock should only be moved and shown by competent people who are capable of restraining them. Children under 13 years old should not normally be allowed to handle cattle without close adult supervision. The exhibitor should be responsible for ensuring that whoever is handling their animal is competent and has the physical ability to control the animal if required. RESPONSIBILITY. Neither the Tynedale Agricultural Society / Northumberland County Show, nor any of its Officers or Servants, shall be in any way responsible or accountable for anything that may happen from any infectious or contagious disease, or any other cause, or circumstance whatever to Exhibitors or their Servants, or to any animal or article exhibited or property brought onto the Showground; or otherwise for anything else in connection with, or aris- ing out of or attributable to, the Northumberland County Show, or these or any other conditions or regulations described in relation thereto; each Exhibitor shall be solely responsible for any consequential or other loss, injury, or damage done to, or occasioned by, or arising from, any animal or article exhibited by him, including any infectious or contagious disease, and shall indemnify the Northumberland County Show against all legal or other proceedings in regard hereto. GRAND PARADES OF LIVESTOCK. Parades of prize-winning Cattle (male and female), Sheep Champion, Goats and Alpacas will take place at 3:30 in the Main Arena. Exhibitors must ensure that their exhibits are ready for the Parades 30 minutes prior to the time shown in the official programme WHITE COATS or RELEVANT CLOTHING AND SUITABLE FOOTWEAR MUST BE worn by all persons in charge of such exhibits. It is a condition of entry that all stock handlers and especially children should only handle animals where they have the necessary strength and experience to cope with the said animal. Children must always be under the direct supervision of and accompanied by a competent adult. No child under the age of 13 may lead an animal in the Grand Parade – except entrants in the Junior Handler Classes who must be under the supervision of an adult. In the event of any Exhibitor or employee refusing to bring their exhibit on parade at the specified time, or in the specified manner when requested by the Stewards to do so, prize money, whether sponsored or not, will be forfeited. CUPS / TROPHIES All trophy winners must collect and sign for trophies from the relevant Secretaries office after 4pm. Winners of Trophies offered by the Show may retain these until the 1st May in the year following the award when the trophies must be returned ENGRAVED in excellent condition to the Show’s Office. Prize Money will be presented together with the rosettes in the ring. PROTESTS. All protests must be made in writing and delivered to the Northumberland County Show Secretary and must be accompanied by a deposit of £5, which shall be forfeited if the objection is decided by Tynedale Agricultural Society to be frivolous.
