The Home of Franklin Roosevelt National Historic Site includes his childhood home, the presidential library, visitors center, trails, and a garden. The Roosevelts loved their gardens. The children worked in them; weeding, planting, and harvesting. Large home gardens were typical features of the diverse, self-sustaining Hudson River estate farms.
