AVAILABLE ROLES for ADDAMS FAMILY

GOMEZ ADDAMS – the passionate patriarch of the Addams Family. Gomez takes great pride in his family and struggles with keeping Wednesday’s secret from his beloved wife. Smart, comedic actor with tenor vocals.

MORTICIA ADDAMS – the driving force behind the Addams Family. Morticia values honesty and will use any tactic to draw it out. Strong comedic actor with a dry wit, with dance/movement skills and alto vocals.

UNCLE FESTER – an energetic, joyous, childlike presence who serves as the show’s narrator. A vaudeville style comedian with tenor vocals.

WEDNESDAY ADDAMS – the eldest of the Addams children; in this adaptation Wednesday is a teenager, but she retains the dry wit and sensibility we recognize in this role. Wednesday provides the main conflict of the show, as she has fallen in love with a “normal” boy and wants to introduce their families. Strong pop belt vocals.

GRANDMA – a feisty 102 year old woman; you don’t mess with Grandma. Quirky, comedic actor with strong character vocals.

PUGSLEY ADDAMS – young actor to play 12 years old. A charming kid who loves getting tortured (literally) by his sister, Pugsley spends the play making sure he won’t lose her. Strong, high vocals.

LURCH – the very tall Addams butler who knows all. He speaks in moans and groans until the final moments of the play. Character actor with low bass vocals.

MAL BEINEKE – stuffy father of Lucas; Mal used to walk on the wild side but has lost touch with that side of himself. High baritone/tenor vocals.

ALICE BEINEKE – mother of Lucas; so devoted to her family she puts aside her own desires. Often speaks in rhyme. While with the Addams Family, Alice drinks a potions that causes her to let her hair down and speak her truth. Comedic actor with soprano/belt vocals.

LUCAS BEINEKE – “normal” young man who loves Wednesday and wants to marry her. Struggles with the differences between Wednesday’s family and his own. Contemporary pop tenor vocals.

THE ANCESTORS – Ensemble members who try to help the Addams Family throughout the show. Strong singers/dancers – knowledge of tango a plus!
