Voice4Parents are delighted to announce that Wolverhampton City Council have secured the following activities for the summer break for families living in Wolverhampton whose children and young people have additional needs. These leisure activities are free and available for the whole family including siblings.

HugglePets in the Community provides Animal Assisted Therapy and Interventions for people who live with a mental health problem or special educational need.

This summer they are running the following sessions: Animal Handling Sessions - 3rd, 5th, 10th, 17th, 19th, 24th and 26th August - 1 hours sessions at 9.30am, 11.00am and 2.30pm

Environmental Plant/ Seed Sowing sessions – 3rd, 5th, 10th, 17th, 19th, 24th and 26th August - 1 hour session at 1.00pm

All these sessions will also include SEND Play in the Sensory Activity Centre

Please note that there is no guarantee that the animals in each session will be the same each time as the animals need to rest too!

Wildside Activity Centre offers a wide variety of outdoor and environmental

activities. The vast majority of their activities are fully accessible to people with disabilities, including use of their narrowboat ‘Trebalisa’, which is moored at their own wharf right next to the Centre.

The following activities will be on offer this summer:

 Naturally, Craft - 11th August - 1.00pm to 2.30pm

 Animal Masks - 17th August – 1.00pm to 2.30pm  Mini Beast Hunt - 23rd August - 1.00pm to 2.30pm  Narrow Boat Trip – 13th August - 10.00am to 2.00pm please note that

Albrighton Trust Moat Fishing Sessions

The Albrighton Trust, Moat and Gardens offers educational and recreational activities for people

additional needs who are welcomed and supported whatever their capability.

They have wheelchair accessible fishing platforms enabling everyone to join in. With qualified angling coaches on hand to help all levels of experience and all equipment is provided.

2-hour sessions will be available on 5th 12th, 19th, and 26th August at 10.00am to 12.00pm

From baby keepsake pottery and keepsakes to messy play and pre-schooler classes, after- school art club and holiday workshops, The Hive has something for everyone at every age.

This summer they are offering 2 types of activities on different dates.

Paint and Sculpture 2 hour session -25th July-11am, 28th July 2.30pm & 5th, 11th, 19th and 26th August at 2.30pm st th th Clay Workshops 2 hour session - 21 July, 18 August and 24 August at 2.30pm

A Flexible Activity Pass will also be available to give families the flexibility to book when a time best for them. The activity pass will be for up to 4 people to book activities over the summer holidays. Please be advised when using the pass that pre booking of craft activities is advised to avoid disappointment.

Come along to Hollywood Bowl for some family fun this summer! Sessions have been organised so families can enjoy playing together, however, please note only up to 6 people can play and this will be for 2 games only.

Outdoor Pursuits Activity Sessions

During the 2-hour session you will be supervised and coached by a qualified rock-climbing instructor and all safety equipment is supplied.

Activities include assisted climbing, Leap of Faith, Crate challenge, small child’s Zip wire, Wheelchair accessible activities (Hoist Activities and possible wheelchair abseil with parent’s assistance), Orienteering, Archery.

Please note that these activities are only suitable for children over 8 years old.

Sessions are available on 27th & 31st August 10am to 3.00pm

Lunch will be provided and transport if required from Faulkland Street at 9.30am

The sessions will be held at Aldridge Airport Outdoor Activity Center Off Bosty Lane, Aldridge, Walsall. WS9 0QQ

Narrow Boat Trip

Join us on our 70-foot narrowboat for a trip along the and Worcester Canal. This 2 ½ hour trip takes in the beauty of the British waterways. All passengers must be able to walk on and off the boat un aided in the event of an emergency. There will be crew on board, but Parents and carers will be always responsible for their child.

Sessions available - 27th July & Tuesday 17th August 10.00am to 3.00pm

Lunch will be provided and transport if required from Faulkland Street at

Showstopper days - Spinsonic - 6th August & 23rd August

Spinsonic Arts deliver wellbeing activities, ground circus skills workshops. They are passionate about making physical activity and mental stimulation accessible within the community and most of all, fun and engaging!

These are the sessions we have available on the day.

Circus Skills, Dance & Theatre, Music and Movement, Canvas Painting, pottery, fireworks crafts, and keyring beading - you will be able to book onto 4 of these sessions on the day.

Registration will start at 9.15am, event will start at 10.00am, session finishes at 4.00pm and lunch will be provided.

20th August - Session to include Sensory Bubbles and Hula Hoops available

at 10.00am to 11.15am, 11.30am to 12.45pm , 1.15pm to 2.30pm and 2.45pm to 4.00pm
