The meeting was arranged by the High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Canada. The meeting was a unique opportunity to reinforce the importance that SK places on its relationship with Bangladesh, promote SK exports and highlight opportunities for further collaboration in the areas of investment, education and innovation. Objectives of the meetings included: Highlighting the linkages and relationship between SK and Bangladesh; Profile the role SK plays in supporting Bangladesh in its pursuit of food security and thanking them for being a significant buyer of SK agri-food products and potash; Promote SK products and exporters to Bangladeshi stakeholders. Bangladesh is one of SK’s top 10 export markets and, with economic growth between 6-7% (and an expanding middle class), an opportunity exists to further increase SK exports; Express SK’s desire to expand and strengthen its relationship with Bangladesh in the areas of investment, education and innovation; and, Lead a roundtable between SK companies and economic development organizations and Bangladeshi stakeholders. Travel Activity: During the mission, Deputy Premier Wyant and Minister Harrison met with the Prime Minister of Bangladesh and 13 other members of her delegation (consisting of members of her cabinet and other government officials). Senior officials present included: o His Excellency Ali, Member of Parliament, Honourable Foreign Minister of Bangladesh; o Mr. Rahman, Principal Secretary, Prime Minister’s Office, Dhaka; o His Excellency Mizanur Rahman, High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Canada; o Mr. Islam, Executive Chairman, Bangladesh Investment Development Authority; o Mr. Ahamed, Bangladesh Consul General to Toronto; and, o Mr. Kabir, Counsellor, Bangladesh High Commission, Ottawa. Eight SK companies, economic development and community organizations and a SK post- secondary institution also attended the meeting and engaged in the industry roundtable. Participants included: o Mr. Noor Faridi, President, Superior Pulses; o Mr. John Hopkins, CEO, Regina Chamber of Commerce; 2 o Ms. Darla Lindbjerg, President and CEO, Greater Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce; o Mr. Kamanashis Deb, President, Bangladeshi Community Association of Saskatchewan; o Mr. Marlin Stangeland, Senior Director, Westcap; o Mr. Rob Norris, Bangladesh’s Honorary Consul to Saskatchewan and Senior Strategist, University of Saskatchewan; o Mr. Faisal Usmani, Director, Superior Pulses; o Mr. Brad Grabham, Director of Trading, BroadGrain Commodities Inc.; and, o Ms. Natashia Stinka, Manager, Government and Public Relations, Canpotex 3 .

Scott Moe Premier of Saskatchewan Government of Saskatchewan 2405 Legislative Dr., Room 226 Regina SK S4S 0B3 Re: COVID-19 & The Essential Role of the Insurance Supply Chain Mr. Premier: On behalf of Saskatchewan’s property and casualty (P&C) insurance sector, thank you for the Province’s swift action in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. We strongly support — and will continue to support — measures to protect the safety and wellbeing of Saskatchewanians. In that spirit, the Insurance Brokers Association of Saskatchewan (IBAS) and the Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC) are jointly writing today to underscore the vital role that our industry plays in protecting consumers, enabling the flow of commerce, and reinforcing the resiliency of communities, large and small. Without proper insurance coverage, families are at risk and businesses simply cannot operate. This protection is only made possible by a robust and highly collaborative supply chain, which includes insurance brokerages, private insurance companies, SGI, and various other vendors, from third-party adjusters to remediation and construction professionals. Brokerages, of course, also serve as the primary distribution channel for public services offered through the SGI Auto Fund, such as the issuance of driver’s licences, licence plates, and basic auto insurance coverage. The majority of the P&C insurance workforce has already migrated to remote work environments. Additional voluntary safeguards have also been put in place to limit potential exposure to appointment-based, in-person interactions only — in compliance with newly mandated provincial health protocols — that are deemed absolutely essential and without timely alternatives.

    President’s Address SARM’s 2020 Annual Convention began with opening ceremonies and an address from SARM President Ray Orb. His address touched on several issues important to rural Saskatchewan. President Orb welcomed delegates to the 2020 Annual Convention with special recognition to Senator Roland Crowe, former Chief of the FSIN, former Chief of Piapot First Nations, as well as President Orb’s neighbor. Mr. Crowe was recognized for his commitment to the betterment of the First Nations people and to the province of Saskatchewan receiving the Saskatchewan Order of Merit in 1985. Roland initiated meetings with SARM, and business leaders in this province, to discuss common interests with the idea of creating a path forward for all of us. President Orb expressed the importance of municipal cooperation and collaboration, promoting the power of working with our rural, urban, and First Nations neighbors. He also shared SARM’s disappointment with SUMA’s proposed name change indicating SARM will not stand in the way of RMs working together to form municipal districts, but SARM will still stand up for rural municipalities when we believe their best interests aren’t being served. The name Municipalities of Saskatchewan implies that there is only one municipal association in this province representing all municipalities, which simply is not true. Saskatchewan is diverse. We have urban municipalities. And we have rural municipalities. We have SARM and SUMA and we believe that’s the way it should be. We champion the value of rural Saskatchewan and understand the unique challenges and opportunities that exist in our RMs.
