A Head of Fundraising has recently been appointed to manage fundraising in Pakistan on a full-time basis. At a strategic level, we are developing two separate appeals focused on healthcare for the under-privileged. These two appeals will form the core of IFTA’s fundraising strategy for the next two years. Strategic Background The strategic focus on establishing two medical centres in Karachi will support the first of five strands of our work, Health. The aim of these appeals will be: a. To provide affordable healthcare for the under-privileged in the Pahar Ganj and Orangi Town areas in Karachi. b. By providing a clear focus for fundraising, to create a new pool of supporters c. To bring together medical professions committed to the development of community healthcare in Pakistan. 4 The Projects Zainabia Medical Centre (ZMC) The focus of this appeal it to make healthcare available for all in this under-privileged region.
