ALINA CASNER, Conference Co-chair, BNY Mellon

Alina Casner is Managing Director, Associate General Counsel and the Head of Legal for Markets at The Bank of New York Mellon, which includes the Derivatives & FX, Securities Finance, Collateral Management and Liquidity & Segregation businesses, as well as the broker-dealer affiliate, BNY Mellon Capital Markets, LLC. Prior to joining BNY Mellon, she practiced law in the Derivatives and Securities Finance Group at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, and prior to that, at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP. She serves as Co-Chair of the Risk Management Association’s Legal, Tax and Regulatory Committee on Securities Lending, and is a member SIFMA’s Securities Lending Subcommittee. She is also an active participant in several ISDA working groups, and she is a member of the New York City Bar Association. She serves on the Leadership Advisory Committee of the National Women’s Law Center, as well as the Board of Directors of Goddard Riverside, a non-for-profit organization. She leads the 30% Club’s US cross-company mentoring program for BNY Mellon.

Alina has a B.A. from Swarthmore College, where she double-majored in Economics and Political Science, during which time she also completed the one-year General Course program at the London School of Economics. She received her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where she was a Notes Editor of the Law Review. She is admitted to practice in New York.

ROBERT ZEKRAUS, Conference Co-chair, Scotiabank Robert (Bob) Zekraus is responsible for Client Capital Management & Funding for the Prime Services division. This mandate focuses on managing the asset and liability profile, client pricing, and the strategic deployment and oversight of scarce financial resources for secured funding products. In addition Bob and his team work on developing customer- focused financing solutions aligning with the risk appetite, liquidity, capital and balance sheet strategies for the business.

Bob is a member of the Prime Services Executive Committee and global management team. He chairs the weekly funding and balance sheet forum and sits on the bank’s US ALCO and liquidity and market risk committees.

Prior to joining Scotiabank in 2014, Bob was Director, Prime Services, at Barclays where he was a member of the Global Equity Finance management team. He held various senior leadership roles in equity financing and prime brokerage. He was part of the original team that established the Collateralized Finance Group at the firm. Bob started his career at Daiwa Securities Inc. in Prime Brokerage.

Bob received a B.S. degree in Economics and Business Management from Cortland College.

MARY JO WHITE, Keynote, Debevoise

Ms. White’s practice focuses on counseling boards of directors and representing clients on significant and sensitive matters, including companies facing crises involving multi-faceted government investigations and cases. She has decades of experience prosecuting and defending a wide range of white collar criminal and civil cases, having served as Chair of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, and as a well-known private practitioner in high-profile matters. Ms. White is recognized as an Eminent Practitioner in Securities Enforcement and White Collar-Crime and Government Investigations by Chambers USA (2019).
