Peterson took fifth in the 10,000m ahead of sixth-place finisher Shannon Fair, and joined her teammate in the book with the No. 4 time in school history. Friday saw the Bulldogs win two events. The men's shuttle hurdle relay team of Willie-Lionel Reed, Ro'Derick Spears, Herbert Wise III and Charles Brockman III broke the school record to win the Championship of America. The men's distance medley relay group of Caden Foos, Vince Castillo, Daniel Nixon and Aaron Phelps won the college event. MSU won the Championship of America in the 4x800m relay. Nixon, Kenya Small, Dejon Devroe and Marco Arop broke the school record with the No. 14 time in NCAA history. Nicolas Quijera won the men's javelin title, narrowly edging out teammate Anderson Peters, and Rhianwedd Price-Weimer was the top collegian in the Olympic Development mile.

2018 MEET RECAPS SEC OUTDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS DAY 1 - MAY 11 MSU opened the SEC Championships with two podium finishes on its first day in Knoxville. Anderson Peters threw the javelin 82.04m (269-2) to break the previous SEC Championships meet record and improve on his NCAA-leading mark. Peters victory broke Texas A&M’s Ioannis Kyriazis’ three-year championship streak. Kyriazis finished second, sandwiched between Peters and the Bulldogs’ Nicolas Quijera. Quijera, the 2018 SEC Men’s Co-Scholar-Athlete of the Year threw the implement 79.05m (246-4). Together, Peters and Quijera scored 16 points for MSU in the event to put their team in second after the first day. On the women’s side, Brianna Smith placed fifth to score four points in the hammer throw. She launched the implement 59.63m (195-7). Shannon Fair capped the night with a fifth-place finish and four points in the 10,000m. In preliminary round action, three of MSU’s four entries in the men’s 400m hurdles advanced to Sunday’s finals. Charles Brockman III and Malcum Tatum each broke personal bests, and Rasheed Tatham also qualified. The three all ran within 0.06 seconds of each other. Marco Arop turned in the second-fastest qualifying time in the men’s 800m, and Alon Lewis qualified in sixth for the women. SEC OUTDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS DAY 2 - MAY 12 Rhianwedd Price-Weimer, Aaron Phelps and Ro’Derick Spears joined the five MSU athletes who qualified Friday at the SEC Championships. Spears broke a 15-year-old school record in the 110m hurdles to advance. His wind-legal time of 13.65 replaces Kelvin Harris’ 2003 mark of 13.73 and would be No. 9 in the NCAA entering the weekend. He joins the three Bulldog men who qualified in the 400m hurdles last night. Price-Weimer turned in the fastest qualifying time of the day in the 1500m, while Phelps’ turn in the men’s event was complicated by a collision with 300m to go. Nearly half of his heat went down, and after reviewing the incident and subsequent protests, 20 athletes were allowed through to the final. Alicia Viveros added to her freshman record, bumping her personal best in the shot put up to 14.41m (47-3.5). In the long jump, Alexis Farley advanced to finals with a personal-best jump of 6.16m (20-2.5). Through two days, MSU advanced eight athletes to Sunday’s finals while watching nine Bulldogs score points. The men and women combined for 25 season bests in the first two days. SEC OUTDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS DAY 3 - MAY 13 Rhianwedd Price-Weimer added a conference title to go alongside her 2015 NCAA crown in the 1500m on Sunday night. Marco Arop also medaled, taking silver in the 800m while breaking his own Mississippi State freshman record. Price-Weimer was in third place entering the final 200m, but the SEC champion and NCAA leader surged through the turn and led the entire way down the homestretch. She finished in 4:18.79. Scoring in one event wasn’t enough for Price-Weimer. She capped her night with a fifth-place finish and four more points in the 5000m. In her first collegiate 5000m on the oval, she clocked a 16:42.36. Arop shattered his freshman record with a time of 1:47.45. Among Canadians, Arop is second only to former Bulldog and 2016 SEC champion Brandon McBride this year. Alon Lewis took seventh in the women’s 800m for two points. With three men in 400m hurdles final, MSU was guaranteed at least six points from the event. The Bulldogs got 11 after Rasheed Tatham and Charles Brockman III went back-to-back with fourth- and fifth-place finishes. Malcum Tatum took seventh. The Bulldog men finished in 11th with 39 points, while the women were 12th with 30 points. NCAA EAST PRELIMS DAY 1 - MAY 24 MSU advanced all eight men who ran on Thursday to the quarterfinals of their event. Rhianwedd Price-Weimer joined the Bulldog men to give MSU nine athletes moving on to the next round of competition.MSU got off to a hot start on the track with all four of its athletes advancing in the men's 400m hurdles. Charles Brockman III crossed the line in 50.43, second in his heat and third overall. His time was a personal-best, a new MSU freshman record and fifth in school history. Rasheed Tatham (50.87) and Malcum Tatum (50.95) also turned in personal bests, finishing seventh and eighth respectively. Vince Castillo took the final qualifying spot, advancing on time with a season-best 51.81 to finish 24th. Rhianwedd Price-Weimer finished second in her heat to automatically advance to the quarterfinals of the women's 1500m. She clocked a 4:17.63 which was ninth overall. MSU's sprinters kept the men's streak going. Karson Kowalchuk ran a season-best 10.34 in the 100m, and Juston Waters clocked 46.53 in the 200m to move on. In the men's 800m, Marco Arop won his heat with the third overall time at 1:48.56. Dejon Devroe finished second in his heat to automatically advance with the No. 19 time. NCAA EAST PRELIMS DAY 2 - MAY 25 Six Bulldogs advanced to Eugene for the NCAA Championships on Day 2 of the East Prelims. Karson Kowalchuk was the first to punch his ticket to nationals. With a personal-best 10.21, he finished 11th in the 100m quarterfinals. He then closed the day by taking second in his heat of the 200m to automatically advance to tomorrow's quarterfinals with another personal-best 20.55w. Ro'Derick Spears, the school record holder in the 110m hurdles, opened the day with a seventh-place finish to advance to tomorrow's quarterfinals. Marco Arop broke his freshman 800m record again and moved into second in school history with a first- place 1:46.78. Dejon Devroe joined him on the way to Oregon with an eighth-place finish. The two are the first pair of MSU athletes to make the 800m semifinals since Golden Coachman and current assistant coach Chris Woods did so in 2008. MSU dominated the 400m hurdles once again, pushing three runners through to Oregon. Charles Brockman III, Malcum Tatum and Rasheed Tatham all ran personal bests. The trio finished seventh, ninth and tenth. Prior to this season, only two Bulldog men had made the 400m hurdles semifinals under Dudley. Scottie Hearn advanced in 2013 and 2015, while Nathan Arnett made it in 2012. NCAA EAST PRELIMS DAY 3 - MAY 26 Four more Bulldog athletes advanced from the East Prelims on Saturday. Ro’Derick Spears advanced automatically after taking third in his heat of the 110m hurdles. The school record holder ran a 13.78 and finished seventh overall. The senior from North Port, Fla., will make his first trip to the NCAA Championships. Rhianwedd Price-Weimer also qualified on the track today, despite taking the brunt of the day’s weather. During the some of the heaviest rains of the day, she clocked a 4:15.18 to take fifth overall in the 1500m.Dealing with poor conditions of their own, Anderson Peters and Nicolas Quijera finished first and second in the javelin to move to Oregon. MSU will be the only school with two javelin men in Eugene this year. The Bulldogs have brought home at least one medal in the event in each of the last three years. The men's 4x100m relay fell just 0.01 seconds shy of advancing to Oregon. MSU finished 13th, just behind Penn State in the men’s 4x100m relay with season-best 39.62. State was one of four teams in the East to push both of their 4x400m relays through to the national semifinals. The woemn to the No. 4 time in school history, running 3:35.05 to finish 11th, while the men placed eighth.

2018 MEET RECAPS NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS DAY 1 - JUNE 6 Freshman standout Anderson Peters can add one more accolade to his resume for the season. The St. Andrews, , native won the NCAA javelin championship on Wednesday night with a meet-record and collegiate-pesonal-best throw of 82.82m (271-9). Senior Nicolas Quijera finished second, making Mississippi State the first school since North Carolina in 2007 to take the top two spots on the podium in the javelin at the NCAA Championships. On the final throw of his collegiate career, Quijera launched the implement 80.21m (263-2). Quijera's mark meets the standard he needed to enter international competition for his home nation of Spain, and he is just the second Spaniard ever to break 80.00m (262-5). The mark also makes MSU the only school in NCAA history with three men to throw over 80.00m in the history of its program. All three are currently on the roster. MSU also saw freshman Marco Arop qualify for the Friday's finals in the 800m. He finished fifth with a time of 1:47.14. The Bulldogs ended day one in second place overall with 18 points, all from the javelin. NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS DAY 1 - JUNE 7 Sometimes it's just not your day. That's all senior Rhianwedd Price-Weimer could say to describe the final race of her college career. The 2015 national champion clocked a 4:21.72 to place 22nd in the 1500m semifinals at the NCAA Championships on Thursday. The Llandrindod, Wales, native had only run over 4:20.00 twice in her career before today's race. Her heat went out quickly and was stocked with seven of the top eight women in the nation this season. Price-Weimer holds eight times inside the school's Top Five in various outdoor events. Indoors, she can boast another seven. Both are the most of any Bulldog, man or woman, on the 2018 roster. MSU also ran the 4x400m relay on Thursday evening. Alon Lewis, Monica Mosley, Riley White and Keturah Smith placed 22nd with a time of 3:40.48. The Bulldog quartet posted the second- and fourth-fastest times in school history this season.

NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS DAY 1 - JUNE 8 With a lap to go freshman Marco Arop jumped out to go with the leaders in the men's 800m final at the NCAA Championships. Those leaders included the collegiate record holder Michael Saruni of UTEP and eventual champion Isaiah Harris of Penn State. The three men battled the entire way down the homestretch with Arop just nipping Saruni at the end to clock a personal-best 1:45.25 and take second by 0.06 seconds. He was just half a second off the winning pace. Arop's finish gave MSU a program-record three Top Three finishers. The , Alberta, native shattered the MSU freshman record for the third time this year and gave the Bulldogs their second- highest team score ever at the NCAA Championships. With Anderson Peters and Nicolas Quijera taking first and second in the javelin on Wednesday, MSU totaled 26 points to finish 10th in the nation. Only the 1982 squad scored more, finishing with 27 and placing 17th.
