The contract awarded on quotation basis will be governed by the regular terms and conditions applicable for parking contracts awarded on tender basis. The acceptance of your offer is subject to the decision of the Administration based on verification of the facts of the application. If required, you may be called for a negotiation for taking further decision. Quotation forms can be obtained free of cost. Please Note 1. Applicants should enclose a Demand Draft drawn in favor of FA & CAO, Southern Railway, Chennai towards License fee for 3 months along with quotation as quoted by the participant. Quotation forms not accompanied by Demand Draft towards payment of License fee for 3 months will not be considered. 2. The license fee for 2 nd quarterly period should be paid on or before 15 th of the 3 rd month. 3. The Successful bidder should submit a FDR equivalent to 2 month license fee towards Security Deposit before commencement of contract. 4. Conditional quotations will be rejected out rightly. 5. The successful bidder will have to start the work within stipulated period, failing which the THREE months license fee and security deposit will be forfeited. 6. In case, the date of opening of quotations happens to be a holiday, the quotations will be opened on the next working day at the same time. 7.The Railway administration reserves the right to cancel the quotations without assigning any reason thereto. 8. The rate quoted should be written both in figures and words. To cater to the diverse rail needs of the burgeoning populace, an array of modern facilities and services are being inducted into the system progressively. Railways has achieved many significant milestones in the past 7 years. 3529 Route Kilometrage of Southern Railway network, accounting for about 70%, has been electrified till March 2021. Piloting with a passenger- centric vision, Southern Railway operated over 1303 Trains per day and transported over 800 million passengers annually in the pre-pandemic times. During the unprecedented nation-wide lockdown in 2020, Southern Railway, with its well formulated strategies to combat COVID-19, geared up to operate 507 Shramik Specials for the benefit of interstate workers and stranded persons. Besides, the zone has also been running special trains, workmen specials apart from special freight and Parcel services since last year. The dedicated team of railway officials are working relentlessly, focussing on developing infrastructure, enhancing capacity, operating passenger-friendly train services and ensuring safety, security and cleanliness. In spite of the district’s top-notch status in terms of high educational, human development index and humungous industrial productivity, given its geography, climate and certain other socio-political attributes, the district administration and its people have to co-exist with the probabilities of hazards like floods, cyclone, Tsunami, drought, heat wave, lightning and chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear emergencies. The Disastrous events in the recent past like the Tsunami of 2004, the catastrophic floods of year 2015, the cyclone of year 2016 and most recently the COVID-19 pandemic, will serve as a testament to the district’s vulnerability to such hazards. How the society responds to such vagaries of nature decides the magnitude and intensity of the destruction that may entail hazardous events. It is against this back drop, the roll of the District Disaster Management Authority can be ideally understood.
