We are already brainstorming new ideas to increase available parking. How- ever, the reason that parking was such an issue is actually a good one. We had a record-breaking crowd at The Cat House on the Kings Spring Fling. We received Tammy and a mountain of admission donations and the si- husband/DJ, Terry lent auction successfully raised a very tidy sum of money. We are so appreciative of everyone who volunteered to help make our open house a rousing success and also, to everyone who came out to support us. We would also like to offer a special thank you to Mike Quinonez for donating six custom-made cat trees. Marmalady’s mom, Laura Lemieux, traveled to the open house from Canada where she was joined by her “Marmaladies” who came from points near and far. The Marmaladies were out in full force promoting Marmalady merchandise and taking “shop till you drop” to a whole new level. Laura brought in about $1,900 in sales Mike Quinonez and donations! Laura also met Dr. Piel who is Cat Trees the vet who performed Marmalady’s surgery. Tammy Barker is the one most deserving of our thanks. For six months, she spends endless hours planning, coordinating and executing this extremely complex event. Then she has to do it all over again. It is a lot of time and effort. So it has been decided that The Cat House on the Kings will only be holding one open house per year. The Holiday Open House will take place each fall in time for Christmas shopping!
