He who pardoned erring Peter never need’st thou fear, He who came to faithless Thomas all thy doubt will clear; He who let the loved disciple on His bosom rest Bids thee still, with love as tender, lean upon His breast. He who ’mid the raging billows walked upon the sea; Still can hush our wildest tempest as on Galilee. He who wept and prayed in anguish in Gethsemane, Drinks with us each cup of trembling in our agony. As of old He walked to Emmaus, with them to abide; So through all life’s way He walketh, ever near our side. Soon again shall we behold Him, hasten, Lord, the day ! But ’twill still be “this same Jesus” as He went away. 7 Heb 13 : 8 God's Works 15. HOW GREAT THOU ART (4/4) Text : C. Boberg/S.K. Hine; Music : Swedish melody/S.K. D A Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee; E E7 A How great Thou art, how great Thou art ! When through the woods and forest glades I wander And I hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees, When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze, And when I think that God, His Son not sparing, Sent Him to die, I scarce can take in - That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing, He bled and died to take away my sin ! When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation, And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart ! Then I shall bow in humble adoration And there proclaim, my God, how great Thou art ! This study narrates the import of rock music into church sanctuaries across America via the rise of contemporary worship music (CWM). While white evangelicals derided rock n’ roll as the “devil’s music” in the 1950s, it slowly made its way into their churches and beyond over the next fifty years, emerging as a multi-million dollar industry by the twenty-first century. This study is a cultural history of CWM, chronicling the rise of rock music in the worship life of American Christians. Pulling from several different primary and secondary sources, I argue that three main motivations fueled the rise of CWM in America: the desire to reach the lost, to commune in emotional intimacy with God, and to grow the flock.

  • Digital Hymnal - Master Index Dh100 Version Cp
GULBRANSEN DIGITAL HYMNAL - MASTER INDEX DH100 VERSION CP DIGITAL HYMNAL GULBRANSEN DH-100CP MASTER INDEX The Master Index allows easy access to all of the thousands of hymns pre-programmed into the GULBRANSEN DIGITAL HYMNAL. The Master Index contains the specific hymn title and the tune name arranged in alphabetical order together with the hymn master reference number. For example, to play the hymn “Word of God, Across the Ages”, select the Master Index code 9000, (as explained on page 9 of the manual) plus the master reference number (found in the Master Index) which is 492. Simply press k b b b plus ENTER and f k d plus ENTER then PLAY. Another convenient way to use the Hymnal is to refer to one of the many popular hymn books that have already been indexed internally by GULBRANSEN. You will then have words and music to use with the Hymnal performance. For example, to play hymns from The Baptist Hymnal, select code 9001 (as explained on page 9 of the manual). When selecting a hymn such as “Word of God, Across the Ages” (number 262 in The Baptist Hymnal), simply press k b b c plus ENTER and d h d plus ENTER then PLAY. The Hymnal always remembers the specific hymn book that you have selected until it is explicitly told to switch to a different one. It even remembers when it is turned off or the battery is removed. Due to copyright and publisher restrictions, some hymns found in your particular hymn book may not be available and therefore inaccessible on the Hymnal.
