Journal of Peace Research 47(5), 2010, S. 651-660. Basierend auf diesen Daten erstellt das Austrian Center for Country of Origin & Asylum Research and Documentation (ACCORD) Übersichten zu Konfliktvorfällen. Die Vorfälle umfassen folgende Kategorien: Kämpfe; Errichtung von Hauptquartieren oder Basen; gewaltlose Aktivitäten von KonfliktakteurInnen; Ausschreitungen/Proteste; Gewalt gegen Zivilpersonen; gewaltlose Gebietseinnahme; Fernangriffe. Für Details zu diesen Kategorien, siehe: ACLED – Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project: Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (ACLED) Codebook, 2015 http://www.acleddata.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/ACLED_Codebook_2015.pdf ACLED – Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project: Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (ACLED) User Guide, Jänner 2015 http://www.acleddata.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/ACLED_User-Guide_2015.pdf QUELLEN ACLED – Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project: ACLED Version 5 (1997 – 2014) standard file, ohne Datum http://www.acleddata.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/ACLED-Version-5-All-Africa-1997- 2014_dyadic_Updated_csv-no-notes.zip GADM – Global Administrative Areas: EGY_adm.zip, Version 2.7, August 2015 http://biogeo.ucdavis.edu/data/gadm2.7/shp/EGY_adm.zip GSHHG – Global Self-consistent Hierarchical High-resolution Geography, Version 2.3.5, 1. • The Data on Periodical (Weekly) Market at the End of the 19Th Century in Egypt -The Cases of Qaliubiya, Sharqiya and Daqahliya Provinces
The Data on Periodical (Weekly) Market at the End of the 19th Century in Egypt -The cases of Qaliubiya, Sharqiya and Daqahliya Provinces Hiroshi Kato Some geographers and historians are concerned with periodical market, which they define as the place of economic transactions peculiar to so called "peasant society. In Egypt, which is, as well known, a typical hydraulic society, periodical market, that is weekly market (α1- siiq al-usbu i) in the Islamic world, still has the important economic functions in rural areas at the present, as well as it had in the past. The author is now collecting the data on Egyptian weekly market from the 19th century to the present, based upon source materials on one hand, and field research on the other. The aim of this paper is to present some statistical and ge0- graphical data on Egyptian weekly market at the end of the 19th century to the researchers who are interested in periodical market in agrarian society, before the intensive study, which the author is planning in the future, on the economic functions of Egyptian weekly market and their transformation in the process of the modernization of Egyptian society. The source material from which the data are collected is A. Boinet, Geographie Econ0- mique et Administrative de I'Egypte, Basse-Egypte I, Le Caire, 1902. It is the results of the population census in 1897 and the agrarian census maybe took in 1898 and 1899, being annexed to the population census in the previous year. The data are arranged village by village, and contain the statistics on cultivated area, crops, planted trees, animals, industry, traffic by rail- road, and transportation by the Nile and canals, and the descriptive informations and remarks on school, canal, railroad, market, post office and so on.

  • Appendix 3.2 Description of Survey Tasks
APPENDIX 3.2 DESCRIPTION OF SURVEY TASKS APPENDIX 3.2 DESCRIPTION OF SURVEY TASKS 1. Preparatory Work The candidate survey locations were visited several times to: • Select a suitable location for each survey station. • Determine the required manpower of surveyors and supervisors • Sketch the site and its surrounding features. The following precautions were considered when selecting the survey locations: • The survey site has to be on a straight part of the road to provide sufficient sight distance for the surveyor to see the coming vehicles and to secure the safety of the survey team. • The survey site should be on a level road section to avoid the increase in vehicle speed in the down-grade direction which may increase the hazards possibility against the survey team. • The survey site has to be on an illuminated section as possible to provide adequate vision to the survey team during dark periods of the survey works and maintain safety aspects to the survey team. • The survey site has to be easily accessible by optimizing the transport process of the survey team to/from each site. • A detailed sketch for each survey station site should be prepared by the site supervisors. (1) Locations of Traffic Count Survey A total of 17 traffic count stations were, originally, selected to carry out the manual classified count (MCC) for two days during 18 hours starting from 6:00 A.M. till 12:00 A.M. These count stations can be classified into two major categories. The first category (10 bridges) is represented by a screenline along the Nile River.
