RESUMO O presente estudo teve como objetivos relatar a experiência do coletivo Odara do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia na cidade de Barbacena e destacar a importância da ação de um grupo que discuta sobre os direitos e vivências de pessoas LGBTQIA+ em uma instituição de ensino federal, na comunidade externa e em escolas estaduais da região, na tentativa de discutir a LGBTfobia no contexto escolar. A metodologia utilizada neste estudo se caracteriza por investigação qualitativa e exploratória, realizada por membros do coletivo com foco na observação dos participantes nas reuniões e debates. O estudo evidenciou a importância da existência e atuação de grupos sociais que questionem a realidade servindo como espaço de fala. Palavras-chave: Gênero. LGBTfobia. Coletivo Odara. ABSTRACT This study aimed to report the experience of Coletivo Odara from Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia in the city of Barbacena, to highlight the importance of actions of a group that discusses the rights and experiences of LGBTQIA + people in a federal educational institution and in the external community and in the region state schools, in an attempt to discuss LGBTphobia in school context. The methodology used in this study is characterized by a qualitative and exploratory research, carried out by members of the collective with a focus on observing participants in meetings and debates. The study showed the importance of the existence and performance of social groups that question reality, serving as a space for speech. -

Para compreender o movimento e sua sigla é fundamental, antes de mais nada, entender a diferença entre orientação sexual e identidade de gênero. A orientação sexual das pessoas, com quem elas se relacionam sexualmente – homem, mulher ou os dois –, não tem uma relação necessária com o seu gênero. Identidade de gênero diz respeito a como as pessoas se percebem em relação ao seu gênero, se como homem, mulher ou nenhum dos dois. Cada letra da sigla LGBTQIA+ agrega um grupo de pessoas que se reconhece por uma orientação sexual ou uma identidade de gênero diversa daquelas que a sociedade convencionou como únicas (orientação heterossexual; gêneros masculino e feminino). Ela é a evolução de GLS (gays, lésbicas e simpatizantes), de GLBT (gays, lésbicas, bissexuais e transexuais) e LGBT. A retirada do “S” (que havia em GLS), de simpatizante, referindo-se a héteros que apoiavam a causa, deu-se pelo entendimento de que eles não eram protagonistas do movimento. Já a troca de posições entre o “G” e o “L” foi motivada para dar visibilidade às mulheres lésbicas e também promover equidade de gênero. Essas próprias mudanças na sigla – inserção de letra, retirada e reposicionamento – demonstram a evolução do movimento pela inclusão das pessoas em suas diferentes orientações sexuais e identidades de gênero. Antes de chegar às letras e aos seus significados, é importante frisar que reconhecer os grupos não tem a ver com rotulá-los, mas sim com reconhecê-los (na verdade, nos reconhecermos) na pluralidade, e como sujeitos dignos de direitos como qualquer cidadão e cidadã. As letras L, G e B designam as orientações sexuais Como se sabe, o L diz respeito às lésbicas e o G a gays, mulheres e homens, respectivamente, que sentem atração afetivo-sexual por pessoas do mesmo gênero que o seu; enquanto o B representa as pessoas bissexuais, que sentem atração afetivo-sexual por homens e mulheres. -

TANTAS PERFORMANCES, OUTRAS ERÓTICAS E SUA (IN)VISIBILIDADE NO BRASIL CONTEMPORÂNEO Miguel Rodrigues de Sousa Neto1 RESUMO: As eróticas e performances de gênero que destoaram/destoam daquelas moldadas pela heterossexualidade tornada compulsória têm sido historicamente subalternizadas. Compreender tal processo no Brasil contemporâneo mostra-se tarefa relevante para compreendermos a construção histórica das diferenças e os embates atuais da população formada por lésbicas, gays, bissexuais, travestis e transgêneros. ESTRATÉGIAS E ASTÚCIAS NO MUNDO DA INVISIBILIDADE GAY Em 26 de abril de 1989, a revista Veja estampava em sua capa a matéria “Cazuza – uma vítima da Aids agoniza em praça pública”, trazendo a foto do rosto de Cazuza, esquálido em função do agravamento de seu estado de saúde em decorrência da presença do HIV em seu organismo. O tratamento dado pela revista ao ídolo do rock nacional que viria a falecer no início do ano seguinte foi alvo, à época, de inúmeras críticas. O que não se pode contrariar é que, na segunda metade dos anos 1980, a AIDS trouxe visibilidade aos homossexuais, levando, inclusive, que figuras célebres fossem retiradas “do armário” em razão da infecção pelo HIV. Retomaremos o tema mais adiante. O ano de 1995 foi paradigmático para os movimentos de afirmação gay e lésbico brasileiros. -

Guy and I published a bibliography of sexuality studies on Latin America in our edited book Sex and Sexuality in Latin America (New York University Press, 1997), including studies in a wide variety of fields. This bibliography was updated for the Spanish edition of that book, Sexo y sexualidades en América Latina (Paidos, Buenos Aires, 1998); that version included a number of items that had come to our attention after we turned in the book to NYU. Interestingly, the number of publications in Latin America (and in Spanish and Portuguese) increased in that brief period, and continues to increase. Adán Griego has added his own bibliography and has agreed to maintain it and keep it current. This work is made available under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported License: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/ Abstract: In 2003, Brazil proposed universal resolution against LGBT's discrimination to the United Nations (UN). Only in 2011, UN declared "zero tolerance" against any form of discrimination or violence based on sexual orientation to member countries. Since 90's, Brazilian LGBT community had major influence to develop public policies within society. Brazil took a long journey to reach promotion inclusion goals of Brazilian Program “Brazil without Homophobia”. Cultural and Educational highlights can be measured from an overview of public libraries in places where non-governmental LGBT organizations took part with affirmative actions within public and private sectors. This nationwide survey gathers quantitative and qualitative data on 61 LGBT organizations through semi- structured questionnaire. Brazilian NGOs joined the National Civil Program against homophobia and have promoted actions for the right to culture of the LGBT population. Working groups have been created to support the production of cultural goods and formalize massive visibility events affirmation of sexual orientation under a culture of peace. These groups have encouraged the distribution, circulation and access to cultural goods and services from public and private sectors, including libraries. LGBT NGOs stated that public libraries have contributed to the promotion of LGBT citizens for two main reasons: promoting the participation of the homosexual population regarding the use of the collections in development and also support events aimed at LGBT visibility. -
