Media Analysis & Evaluation Report the Arts Council Touring Experiment . Media Analysis & Evaluation Report for The Arts Council Touring Experiment Prepared by: Elizabeth Lonergan Date: 9th January 2008 . Table of Contents 1. Media Analysis Definitions 3 2. Executive Summary 4 3. Summary Media Coverage Report 6 4. Media Volume Analysis 12 5. Media Value Analysis 18 2 Media Analysis Definitions Media Impact & Influence tracking allows clients to evaluate either on an ongoing basis or post – event both the Media Impact and the Media Influence of their PR efforts. Each individual piece of coverage is analysed along a set criteria to assess individual coverage impact & influence Impact is defined as the editorial impact of the relevant section of the editorial from an editor's perspective. Coverage is classified into one of the following 3 categories o Prime: Company / Brand in headline / first sentence in first Paragraph / Logo / Pictorial / Heavy Branding o Significant: Company / Brand mention in context about company or industry o Passing: Passing reference to company / brand usually in a context not associated about the company / industry Influence is defined as the editorial influence of the relevant section of the editorial from an editor's perspective. Coverage is classified into one of the following 3 categories o Positive: Positive tone about the company or its products o Neutral: Balanced coverage with Neutral tone or both Positive & Negative tones balancing each other o Negative: Negative tone about the company or its products Volume Analysis allows clients to evaluate where the volume of coverage is emanating from in greater detail, to allow for PR follow – ups mid campaign and to assess and plan for the next campaign. Coverage Area is defined as the total measure of editorial and pictures / logos in Square CM. Media Value Analysis allows clients to ensure that they are getting value for money for their PR. Advertising Value Equivalent (AVE) offers this measure for PR success. However, in itself this value is not a true reflection of real media value of the editorial, as it does not take factors such as Impact and Influence into consideration. That’s why MediaMarket have developed a ratings analysis, which provide a combined measure of Influence & Impact of the company/ organisation expressed as a numerical rating. Media Value Ratings are used as a multiplier of the AVE to give a truer reflection of the real media value i.e. (MVR * AVE = M-AVE) M-AVE (Multiple*Adv Value Equivalent) is the Advertising Rate Card Value of the Space were you to purchase it * the Media Value Rating to give a true Media Value. Competitive Share of Voice Analysis enables you to compare your media coverage with that of your competitors. This analysis outlines in both percentage terms and the actual volume of all editorial coverage for each competitor. S.O.V. is defined as the percentage of editorial coverage by Square CM for each of the analysed competitor 3 . • Prasa Lokalna W Irlandii
O ile pierwszy i drugi czynnik analizować należy

pring has arrived and you will have noticed, from the front cover of this edition of SUPPORT, that Ray D’Arcy has kindly responded to our request, for the second time, to Sbe an Ambassador for the Irish Kidney Association’s 2019 Organ Donor Awareness Week's campaign. He previously headed the campaigns in 1998 and 1999. Fundraising is an essential part of the Association's past and future. ‘Yes’ we are in a position to expand our services and about a quarter of our annual expenditure is funded by the HSE. However, the remainder of the €1.75 million expenditure comes from fundraising and donations. Currently, we are developing a six bedroom Renal Support House adjacent to the Cork University Hospital. Negotiations to provide a four to five station holiday dialysis centre in Tramore, Co. Waterford are advancing to accommodate up to sixteen local patients for year-long dialysis. The new purchase of an additional holiday house in Killarney is ready for the season and, indeed, the Renal Support Centre in Beaumont is currently undergoing a facelift (see page 31). We have ambitions to provide an accommodation and holiday facility on the grounds of Merlin Park Hospital in Galway and, for the first time in many years, we are in a position to commit Contents... €250,000 to kidney research projects, over a five year period. 2 EDITORIAL FRONT COVER 4 RAY D’ARCY, IKA AMBASSDOR Ray D’Arcy, 6 ORGAN DONATION AND TRANSPLANTATION 2019 Ambassador for the IKA’s 2018 Organ Donor 8 TRANSPLANT BABY JOY Awareness campaigns.

  • Enforcement Decision Series (No
ENFORCEMENT DECISION SERIES (NO. E/05/001) Competition Act 2002 Decision of The Competition Authority (Case COM/05/03) The alleged predation by the Drogheda Independent Company Limited in the market for advertising in local newspapers in the greater Drogheda area Date of Decision: 7th December 2004 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The Competition Authority (“the Authority”) has taken the view that alleged predatory conduct by the Drogheda Independent Company Limited (“the DIC”) does not breach the Competition Act 2002. This view is taken on the basis that the DIC is not dominant nor could its alleged conduct constitute an abuse. The alleged conduct is arguably pro-consumer and more indicative of intense competition in the market than predatory conduct by a dominant undertaking. The Authority’s investigation was prompted by complaints from the publisher of the Drogheda Leader (“the Leader”) alleging that the DIC was abusing a dominant position by: launching the Drogheda Independent Weekend Extra (“the Extra”) in 1997, selling advertising below cost since 1997, and selectively discounting the price of advertising in the Extra during January and February 2003. The Authority rejected the first two of these allegations on the basis that the DIC’s actions could not plausibly be considered as predation and the theory of predation was inconsistent with market facts. The Authority therefore only outlines in detail its analysis of the allegation of below cost selling of advertising space in the Extra during early 2003 in this decision note. The Authority considers that the relevant market in which the DIC competes is the market for advertising in local newspapers in the greater Drogheda area.

  • A STRATEGY GUIDE for Community Development Projects, Family Resource Centres & Partnerships
SUPPORTING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE NATIONAL ACTION PLAN AGAINST RACISM AND TOWARDS EU YEAR OF INTERCULTURAL DIALOGUE 2008 A STRATEGY GUIDE for Community Development Projects, Family Resource Centres & Partnerships SUPPORTING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE NATIONAL ACTION PLAN AGAINST RACISM AND TOWARDS EU YEAR OF INTERCULTURAL DIALOGUE 2008 A STRATEGY GUIDE for Community Development Projects, Family Resource Centres & Partnerships 2 BACKGROUND In March 2005, the National Consultative Committee on Racism and Interculturalism (NCCRI) and Pobal, in conjunction with the Family Support Agency and the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, hosted a conference to advance the objectives of the National Action Plan Against Racism (NPAR), which had been launched by An Taoiseach and the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform earlier that year. The NPAR fulfils a commitment by the Government to the UN World Conference Against Racism in South Africa in 2001. The conference drew together representatives from Community Development Projects, Family Resource Centres, Area-Based and Community Partnerships and other organisations engaging in anti-racism and intercultural work. The conference was an important milestone in supporting the work of the organisations and locating the work within the strategic framework of the NPAR. A key conclusion from the conference was the need to develop tools and supports to strengthen the work, during and after the NPAR (2005-2008) as Ireland moves towards an Integration strategy. The overall focus of this strategy guide is to support Community Development Projects, Family Resource Centres and Partnerships as key players in the development of locally based anti- racism strategies and social inclusion measures to promote diversity.

  • Legal Interpreters in the News in Ireland
Legal Interpreters in the News in Ireland Mary Phelan Dublin City University, Ireland The International Journal for [email protected] Translation & Interpreting Research trans-int.org Abstract: This article consists of a review of court reports from national and provincial newspapers in Ireland over an eight year period from 2003 to 2010. Coverage suggests that interpreters are not always provided in police stations or in the courts and that on occasion friends and family members act as interpreters in court. The issue of proficiency in English is a recurrent one and the reports provide an insight into the attitudes of judges, lawyers and police officers to defendants who are not proficient in the language. Meanwhile, some solicitors consistently request interpreters for their clients when they appear in court. Other salient issues are cost, interpreter competency and interpreter ethics. Keywords: competency, court, ethics, interpreter, police, proficiency 1. Introduction The present DPP [Director of Public Prosecutions], James Hamilton, recalls that on one occasion a German sailor was brought into court charged with a public order offence following a night on the town. He was asked to stand up, but did not move. He describes what happened next: Does he speak English? the judge enquired of the garda. No, Justice, he replied. Is there an interpreter? No, Justice. Does anyone here speak German? A hand went up at the back of the court. Swear him in, demanded the judge, and the man was sworn in as an interpreter. Ask him his name, Judge O hUadhaigh demanded of the interpreter. Fatt iss your name? the interpreter, who had clearly watched too many war movies, asked the defendant in German- accented English.
