CANTON, OHIO – The following is a sampling of events, happenings and notes that highlight how the Pro Football Hall of Fame serves its important mission to “Honor the Heroes of the Game, Preserve its History, Promote its Values & Celebrate Excellence EVERYWHERE!”

“MADDEN CRUISER” AVAILABLE FOR TOURS The original “Madden Cruiser” Pro Football Hall of Famer used during his broadcast career is again available for tours at the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The Greyhound bus is the first of five used by Madden during his time as a brodcaster. The “Madden Cruiser” is located in the Hall’s main parking lot for fans to step onto and look around throughout the summer from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, weather permitting.

Madden used the bus after his retirement from coaching to avoid flying. The interior of the “Madden Cruiser” has been restored to its original condition and features two color televisions, a telephone and intercommunications system, a citizens band radio, two laser disc players, a built in vacuum cleaner, a stereo system and a videotapr player. There also is a queen-sized bed in a private bedroom with a private bathroom and a kitchette complete with a microwave oven.

EXHIBITS UPDATED AT THE HALL OF FAME The winners of the 51st annual Pro Football Hall of Fame Photo Contest were put on display at the Hall this week. The winning image, “Eye on the Ball” by Jacob Gonzalez, depicts George Kittle attempting to complete a catch against former Los Angeles Rams linebacker Mark Barron in Dec. 30, 2018 game at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. All the contest winning photos can be viewed in the Hall’s exhibit.

Additionally, the curatorial team at the Hall has placed several items on display in the Pro Football Today Gallery. The mementos recently added to exhibits include: • ’ rookie recruiting letter (pictured top right) • Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt’s elbow brace • ’s 1991 Monarchs jersey • Football thrown by quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in 2014 when he became the first quarterback in NFL history to have two 500-yard passing games in a career • Bud Light Victory Fridge • David Johnson’s cleat from the “My Cause, My Cleats” campaign in support of anti-bullying from 2016 (pictured bottom right) and his jersey from 2015 when he became the first player in NFL history with a rushing, receiving and kickoff return touchdown in the first two games of his career

HALL’S YOUTH & EDUCATION TEAM HOSTS “WOMEN IN THE NFL” PROGRAM The Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Youth & Education Team hosted a special “Women in the NFL” program on Thursday providing students the opportunity to hear from Natara Holloway, the ’s Vice President of Strategic Business Operations. Students from New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Rhode Island and Texas were able to interact with Holloway through Facebook Live. She spoke about her career path, what she learned along the way and left students with advice to ensure they reach their goals.

“There is nothing that I can do on my own here. It is really about team, trying to find those people that are on the team that are really going to support you is critical to success within the NFL. That’s kind of the way we run the business anyway – it’s about teamwork!” – Natara Holloway

CLAUDE HUMPHREY INDUCTED INTO SHELBY COUNTY (TENN.) SCHOOLS ALUMNI HALL OF FAME Pro Football Hall of Famer CLAUDE HUMPHREY was inducted into the Shelby County (Tenn.) Schools Alumni Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame honors notable graduates of its schools for their professional accomplishments and work in the community. Honorees have included athletes, actors, activists and politicians. Humphrey, a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2014, graduated from Lester High School in Shelby County.

FREE KICKOFF TO SUMMER EVENT THIS SATURDAY ON THE HALL’S CAMPUS The Pro Football Hall of Fame will host a free event on Saturday, June 1 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to kick off the summer travel season. The family friendly event will include a football skills combine, a “Touch-a-Truck” display, inflatables and games on the Hall’s campus. Additionally, with each full- priced adult Museum admission purchased, guests will receive one free children’s Museum admission.

The football skills combine will allow kids to test their athletic abilities on the Hall’s FieldTurf in a fun interactive experience, including a 40-yard dash, vertical jump and more. The “Touch-a-Truck” display will feature a wide variety of vehicles for guests to explore and take photos, including Stark County Sheriff’s Office K9 Vehicle & Ford Raptor with side-by-side and trailer, Canton Police Department Motorcycle & Swat Truck, Sarchione Auto Legend Truck, snow plow courtesy of Rice’s Nursery, SARTA Bus, Stark Country Library Bookmobile, mini excavator, skid steer and bulldozer.

There will be inflatables and other family friendly games for guests to enjoy as well as food trucks – The Slop Truck, Pierogi Joe’s and Kona Ice – for food and beverage options.

The Hall of Fame will also make a special announcement at noon that day.
