During its first decade, Nelson Mandela Metropolitan has seen190 students graduate, with many of whom have gone on to achieve further academic success, participate in national and international sporting events, serve on national and international sporting organisations and boards, as well as climb their own career ladders. Daryl Newton, along with alumni Yoliswa Lumka (2012) who is now also the Director of Sport at Nelson Mandela University, and • George Newton (2008) was appointed as a Fan Fest Manager for the 2010 World Cup.
