For Chinese-taught program, HSK level 4 is needed. Language requirements: For English-taught program, TOEFL IBT 61( CBT 173) or IELTS 5.0 or an applicant’s English level is considered qualified for the study by International Cooperation Office of his home university.

Estimated Costs

Average cost of living per month: Around 3,500 RMB (including accommodation, food, etc)

Health insurance: Exchange students are required to buy health insurance before they come and to submit the copy of the policy when registering in SEU.

Miscellaneous

Accommodation arranged An occupancy in the university will be provided when there are free by hosting university occupancies at the students’ registration and application time. Otherwise, students can choose to rent an apartment off campus by themselves.

About 500 (RMB) per month for one occupancy in a double room; Additional information on 2 students share a bathroom. There is only one common kitchen at accommodation: every building in Sipailou Campus, but there is no kitchen in Jiulonghu campus. Dining rooms are available in all campuses.

Visa requirements: X2 visa is for those who stay in China no more than 180days;

X1 visa is for those who stay in China for more than 180days.

Those who plan to return or visit other countries during their stay in Southeast University are advised to apply for visa of twice entry or more in line with their plan.

Notes:

1. Most schools of Southeast University(SEU) can host exchange students doing research. SEU will help them to find supervisors; 2. English-taught courses for graduate students are also available to exchange undergraduates; 3. SEU provides free Chinese language courses for exchange students; 4. Exchange students must go to International Students Office, College of International Students for consultation before leaving SEU after completion of their exchange study, otherwise they will fail to get transcripts.
