AMENDMENTS TO ZONING BYLAW

BYLAW #12-21 ZONING AND HERTIAGE MANAGEMENT BYLAW AMENDMENT NO. 6

Bylaw #12-21 received a first reading to amend the Zoning and Heritage Management Bylaw #09-03 as follows to allow for more residential accommodation within Downtown Dawson City’s Commercial Core:

1) Part IV – Zoning Districts, CC – Core Commercial (5) is hereby amended from: “Residential Residential uses shall only be permitted above the first story of a mixed-use building.”

to:

“Residential Residential uses are permitted, but a commercial front must be maintained where commercial fronts currently exist and where residential entrances are located in alleys, heritage streetscape regulations will apply to the alley ‘frontage’ .”

Any person who wishes to be heard in favour of, or against, the bylaw may be heard in person, or by agent, as a delegate to a public hearing at the Council meeting on the 8th of August, 2012. All written submissions must be submitted to the Development Officer, 1336 Front St, (City Hall), or by email to [email protected], no later than 12:00 p.m., the 3rd of August, 2012.
