Hilbre High School Humanities College Parents’ Newsletter 1st February 2016 – Week B Date Event Monday 1st February Tuesday 2nd February Wednesday 3rd February Thursday 4th February Year 11 Parents’ Evening, 5-8pm Friday 5th February Since the start of our Academic Year, we have been striving to ensure that Hilbre is the most positive, focused and hardworking place to be, with a key drive to ensure our young people’s attitudes to learning are in-tune with their success! Last night, at our Year 9 Parents’ Evening, it was quite evident that we are on-course. What a superb evening we had; well-attended, a friendly, open and positive atmosphere and relationship between all of us, parents, students, staff, and throughout the building. It, once again, leads me to thank each and every member of the Hilbre community for playing such a valued part in all we stand for as a school. On the same evening, heading over to our Sixth Form building, we had an Apprenticeship Evening in which various apprenticeship providers set up their stalls and conveyed key information to students and their parents. The evening was opened by Margaret Greenwood MP; a proud moment for Hilbre to be visited by our local MP. Incidentally, the Year 9 Parents’ Evening itself had a heavy focus on our Year 9 student options, as they begin to make their choices. I am confident that with the support and advice they are being given, they will be making excellent choices to take them far in life! Have a great weekend. Mark Bellamy Interim Principal G-Office-Newsletter 010216 IMPORTANCE OF OUR STUDENTS BEING ON TIME TO SCHOOL This week the House Teams have noticed how the number of students who are late to school has increased.
