IGBC visit- CII CBC building located at Hi-tech city, Hyderabad. on 23-Apr-19 by the entire team of faculty in charges of all departments it is platinum rated building to have awareness on the various initiatives taken up by them are exhibited practically like walking pathways removal of heat and sink of rain water provision, STP with the natural plants for water purification, well ventilated walls as a curtains using bamboo tress also. Natural air conditioner to the entire building, rainwater pathways to collect into the water bodies, roof toppings with solar cooling agent paints, vertical garden with drip system, entire building drain system done with glass and plaster of Paris for good appearance

IGBC rating system Consultant meeting-CII on12-May-19 to discuss on the various points and the application of the Green rating to the institute taking care of various aspects like pedestrian path, parking place, ventilation, green coverage, air cooling systems, roof top cooling system etc how to improvise the rating and its execution.

IGBC rating system meeting-CII on 14-Jun-19 at Griet campus by the expert team from CII to discuss on the various points and the application of the Green rating to the institute taking care of various aspects like pedestrian path, parking place, ventilation, green coverage, air cooling systems, roof top cooling system etc how to improvise the rating and its execution.

6. International Yoga Day- GRIET on 21-Jun-19 GRIET has organised International Yoga Day on 21 June 2019 under the able guidance of Yoga Trainer Ms Soudamini. The Director Dr Jandhyala N murthy, Nss Coordinator Dr T Padma, Faculty Incharges of NSS Dr Laxmi Prasanna, NSS student volunterss, Staff and Students have participated in the event total of 550 participated in the event and it was the grand success the Yoga trainer has done with has many as 50 Yoga posters including standing and sitting posters alongwith breathing excercises.

7. International Yoga Day- School on 21-Jun-19 As a part of Street cause wing of GRIET has conducted the yoga practice at the ZPHS school near Hydernagar, Hyderabad. Approximately 200 + students participated from class 8,9 &10 organised under the supervision of the Yoga Trainer.

8. Meeting for Harithaharam Campaign- CII on 27-Jun-19 initialised meeting on the plantation drive in a huge way. The programme is aimed at planting 100 crore saplings this year and ensuring that at least a quarter of the saplings planted should be native fruit-bearing trees.in the state of Telangana.

GRIETINK-ECE -Ghattuppal on 03-Jul-19 The firm objective of the program is ,Introducing GRIET Tinkering Lab(GRIETINK) in the school to motivate the students towards the current and future technologies on 2 July 2019.As part of the program 1. The Faculty of GRIET have conducted a brief session to faculty of the school regarding the motto of the program and the technologies going to introduce in the school. 2. The students of GRIET had introduced the technologies like IoT with Arduino and Raspberry Pi, App Development, Artificial Intelligence in very simple and clear manner by projecting their innovative ideas and internship experiences 3. The Faculty of GRIET taught the fundamentals of Mobile App Development and motivated the school students to create their own apps and projected some of the real time projects useful to society. 11. Traffic rules 08-July 2019 considering the practice of violation of traffic rules and noncompliance of the safety of the road users, a thought of educating the road users is thought of. In this regard a campaign was organized to create awareness among the road users on various safety requirements by displaying the Traffic Rules and Quotes by a group of student community for conveying a message and create a realization to follow traffic rules for improved safety and safe Journey.

12. Selfie with Guru -IT-AICTE on 16-Jul-19 The HRD Minister has launched the programme with the view that the teachers are really very important in one’s life and therefore they must be commemorated. The campaign is aimed at the same and the HRD minister has invited participation from all the concerned. The participants are to post their selfies with their teachers on social media so that it can be highlighted that the teachers are important in our lives. The campaign has been launched on the occasion of the Guru Purnima which falls on July 16. It is known to us that the festival is celebrated to honour the teachers.

Rural Development Program is the process of improving the quality of life and economic well-being of people living in rural areas, often relatively isolated and sparsely populated areas. 15. Plastic Free Zone on 20-Jul-19 GRIET has a special wing of NSS conducted Plastic free Drive on 20 July 2019, the activity was inaugurated by Chief Administrator of GRIET Shri Shekaram. About 200 Students and staff participated actively in this plastic free drive conducted in the entire campus of GRIET. Earlier there was water clogging at various places due to debris. All this was collected by the volunteers. Apart from plastic other waste materials like tins, cans, paper cups, plates, wrappers were collected. They were separated in green and blue bins by the volunteers of different wings of Street Cause and NSS wings. The entire event taken place for five hours. The participants were very enthusiastic in protecting the environment keeping the campus clean and green. The event was very successful and participants were dispersed after refreshments. While inaugurating the event the chief administrator Shri Shekaram emphasized importance of clean environment. The Principal Dr J Praveen also actively participated and motivated the volunteers throughout the event. Deans, HODs, Professors, Faculty and supporting staff participated actively. The entire event was conducted under the guidance of NSS Coordinator Dr T Padma and Street cause Coordinator Dr V Lakshmi Prasanna.

16.Paper waste -ITC Street cause activity Big Book Week for raising the funds which can be utilized for Societal use village development / school renovation / orphanages / Good Samaritans use etc. old Books / newspapers and waste from paper is collected from all the departments and sent for recycling to ITC. Big book week is an annual fundraiser organized by STREET CAUSE-GRIET Student body where we collect old books and papers from fellow students and college and we send them for recycling. In 2019-2020 term we collected around 5 tons of books which is the highest ever.

17. Thara organisation on 28-Jul-19 done by NSS volunteers was one of the noteworthy task. we visited THARA ORGANIZATION which is a Charitable Organisations, also known for Orphanages where there were 110 children of the ages from 5-18 located at bowenpally, Hyderabad. Done fun filled activities, played kho- kho, kabadi, cricket and basketball followed by distribution of refreshments. This kind of social exposure made this day very special. Finally we are doing event at thara orphanage, bowenpally. There will be 80+ kids interact with the students and play with them. There will be big ground including basketball court. Guitar and also few more musical instruments. We had a great conversation with them. We distributed chocolates, pencil box, pens etc...

19. ZP high school-outreach-CSE on 03-Aug-19 to encourage and enlighten the school children about the microcontroller technology and how it is used to control interfaces that they see in daily life. In this regard ZP school expressed interest to host the event as a part of their ‘Atal tinkering Lab‘- MHRD organised to the school students of class-10 in the Microcontroller lab at GRIET

20. Self-defence- First years-Laxmi swarajyam on 09-Aug-19. Self-defence training will improve the confidence of the girls in the present society and they should learn to face sudden attacks like chain snatching, rape attempt by anti-social elements. Ms. N. Lakshmi self-defence trainer visited our college campus and organised a session on self-defence for all girls of I B.Tech. She along with her team members taught all self-defence skills that can be used during chain snatching, unnecessary shake hands, sudden anti-social attacks, repelling attacks etc. Students learnt tricks to prevent any anti moral situations on roads. Ms. N. Lakshmi shared all the toll-free numbers of SHE team and Women Protection details. She encouraged girl students to identify and share any anti moral issues and eve teasing boldly to the public so that they can prevent and avoid such situations in future. Every girl student was filled with great and immense energy within them and enjoyed the session

21. Ashraya Old age Home- Mayurinagar on 14-Aug-19 A warm and a blessed day having spent our time together Wid the old aged people at ASHREYA OLDAGE HOME on 14 Aug 2019. We the CSE DEPARTMENT -NSS had an emotional interaction with them, gave them the groceries and provisions they needed and had a great time.

22. School on 14-Aug-19 ‘Skills and Thrills’ at Sri Sai Ram High School in exhibiting the student talents in Singing, fancy dress, Essay writing, elocution students shown magnificent performance. The students shown magnificent performance of all the participants, fancy dress shown multiple diversity of the models. The students and the management were very enthusiastic over the events expressed encouragement and happiness. They want to extend hand for the coming years also. The certificates distributed to all the participants.

23. Saplings collection from forest academy-kukatpally, hyd on 14-Aug-19 collected fruit bearing plants, flowering plants and ornamental plants to reduce the deforestation and improve on the biodiversity.

24. Harithaharam- Campus on 15-Aug-19 Harithaharam event done under the supervision of the Green Campus team under the guidance of Dr T Padma, ADGC around 500+ saplings were planted in and around campus by fruit bearing plants, flowering plants and ornamental plants.

The NSS volunteers of ECE department visited on the day done the flag Hoisting followed by Fun filled events, games and sports events conducted. As per there request replaced with 5 Tube lights and holders fitted by the team of EEE students. Water taps and Sink drain pipes and filter traps were fitted by the student volunteers. After few funny competitions followed by the refreshments. This is my first event management experience, And also the people at Nirman were so cooperative, helped us a lot in doing favor things to us. MNJ Cancer Institute for Rakhi festival on 15-Aug-19 The NSS volunteers visited MNJ cancer Institute Childrens wing it was such a privilege to be able to spend time with them and I've treasured each and every moment. In the midst of all the chaos it was beautiful to find some real smiles - Namrata(CSE). We had a great day today by spending time with the kids in MNJ cancer hospital. We (4th block) made them to colour cartoon figures, distributed biscuits, balls (smile's), balloons, and girls tied Rakhi's to them and we distributed flags among them. It was the best Independence Day and Rakhi we celebrated till today

Bathukamma on 28 sept 2019 it is a flower festival celebrated predominantly by the Telangana and some parts of Andhra Pradesh as a part of cultural fest done traditionally to inculcate to the students. Every year this festival is celebrated as per Shathavahana calendar for nine days starting Bhadrapada Pournami (also known as Mahalaya Amavasya or Pitru Amavasya) till Durgashtami, usually in September–October of Gregorian calendar. Bathukamma is celebrated for nine days during Durga Navratri. It starts on the day of Mahalaya Amavasya and the 9-day festivities will culminate on "Saddula Bathukamma" or "Pedda Bathukamma" festival on Ashwayuja Navami. The first day of Navratri is initiated in a big way by the students and the staff followed by Rangoli competitions, singing competitions and award function.

Dandiya on 28 sept 2019 is the socio-religious folk dance originating from Indian state of Gujarat and popularly performed in the festival of Navaratri. The students and staff have participated with more enthusiasm followed by refreshments.

46.Women challenges in Education and Career Prospects on 10-Oct-19 Ms Payal She envisions taking these skills to the community of persons with disabilities, hence empowering them with this invaluable and so far unexplored skill of saving lives. When not working, Payal writes narratives on gender, disability and sexuality through her own blog and other spaces. Diversity hiring is her advocacy goal. Experiments in the kitchen, reading copiously and travelling to destinations unknown adds the third dimension to her persona. Health and Hygiene Awareness Campaign- for Housekeeping and maintaince personal on 19-Oct- 19 we have conducted an awareness and educational program to all the women working as safaiwallas in GRIET, GRCP and GVS. Total 170 of them attended. At present, the understanding all over the world is that poverty is not because of lack of money but because of lack of knowledge. Mr Shekaram, CAO and Dr. Viswanatha Raju gaaru gave some good knowledge inputs to the ladies on personal hygiene, sanitation, nutrition and children’s education. The message was delivered in simple , understandable Telugu. We have shown some Telugu videos also on these topics. This was a small effort on our part to add some value to the lives of these these poor and ignorant women. At the end of the program, we gave each one of them a stainless steel tiffin carrier as a gift. The cost of the gift items was borne by myself and Principal, GRCP Mr. Subrahmanyam

50. Medical Check-up to All faculty & staff on 29-30 Oct -19 Free Health Checkup by Vijaya Diagnostics at GRIET campus on RBS, BP, HR, SPO2, muscle mass, Bone mass, BMI, metabolic age and other tests like Bone density, complete body analysis were done at the interest of the staff.

51 Blanket Drive by NSS and Street Cause teams on 28 Dec 2019. We the members of Street Cause GRIET want to take an initiative to spread warmth among the poor by this Blanket Donation Drive. We decided to donate blankets and clothes to the homeless people in Lingampally, Allwyn, Miyapur, Nizampet, Kukatpally, KPHB, SR Nagar, Kompally, Suchitra, Ameerpet, Gandhi Hospital and various other places in the city.

Description of the event: The idea of the event is to collect the blankets and sweaters from the students of GRIET behalf of NSS team, the announcements were conducted in all the branches of GRIET. The execution is successful and we have collected more than 110 sweaters and blankets. The locations where the distribution conducted are at BASAWATARAKAM CANCER HOSPITAL, SRI PEDDAMMA TEMPLE, KPHB in HYDERABAD. The response is quite heart touching because homeless are feeling painful in the biting cold temperatures.

52. Renovation of washrooms, classes and uplifting sanitation facilities in Bachupally Government School, Hyderabad on 10-18 Dec 2019. The school compromising of nearly 350 students and 15 teachers was in need of proper sanitation and running water facility. Due to constant blockage of garbage and lack of water the current washrooms are in a state of usage. We almost changed the school infrastructure by providing them with basic needs. As a part Street Cause GRIET, we have provided them with the following: 1. Provided with 5 doors for classrooms. 2. Repaired windows for proper ventilation. 3. Fixed up the bathroom seat. 4. Tap connection for 4 washrooms. 5. We levelled the floor using cement. 6. We also painted the blackboards in classrooms.

53. Project Sastra 2.0 on 16 Dec 2019 MPP School Jagadgirigutta, Hyderabad. Education is very important as it helps an individual to have a better perspective of life and to become independent in life. We are taking up this event to help the school students with the subjects they are lacking either in basic concepts or application. We took two classes per day from 2 pm to 4 pm. We went to 4th and 5th standards to teach a few basics of Mathematics and we also taught how to give a self-introduction in English. All the students were very interactive and gave their best in learning the things.

Spreading Joy at Oldage home and orphanage, KJR Charitable Trust, Near Kushi Gardens, Pragathi Nagar, Dammaiguda on 24/10/2019 Orphanage, a safe environmental place provided the basic amenities like food, shelter and education. A place which spreads the love among the orphans and makes them feel home. KJR Charitable Trust, an orphanage filled with joyful children but lacking few facilities. We, members of Street Cause GRIET donated them 3 Bunk Beds, 3 Wall fans, 6 Mattresses, 6 pillows, a second-hand washing machine and school kits for children in the orphanage. The children were filled with joy and happiness.

Social Leadership India@75 on 27 sept 2019 on envisions how India should be in her 75th year of independence and seeks to bring together all stakeholders including the industry, government, institutions, community groups and individuals to translate the vision into a reality. To collaboratively create an inclusively developed India by 2022 that will shape the new world order through economic strength, technological vitality and moral leadership Dr Prakash Amte & Dr Mandakini Amte are medical doctors who founded Lok Biradari Prakalp, for the development of tribal people, most of whom were the in the forests of . He lived and worked there for almost twenty years performing emergency surgical procedures without electricity. The project transformed into a hospital, Lok Biradari Prakalp Davakhana, a residential school, Lok Biradari Prakalp Ashram Shala, and an orphanage for injured wild animals. The project provides health care to about 40000 individuals annually free of cost. The Lok Biradari Prakalp Ashram School has over 600 students. They were awarded with Padma Shri in 2002 and The Ramon Magsaysay Award in 2008 was the Special Plenary with “Dr. Prakash Amte & Dr Mandakini Amte” on Community Leadership

Rural Immersion program at Ramakrishnamatt on 18 & 19 Feb 2020 with seminars by the MHRD experts. GRIET - VILLAGE DEVELOPMENT ACTION PLAN-BACHUPALLY 1.Problem: Need for drinking water Plan: There is a need to setup water plant in Bachupally and in Rajeev Gandhi Nagar with the help of an NGO. 2.Problem: Waste collection by GHMC is poor. The waste collection from households occur once in 3 days, so the number of mosquitoes are increasing day by day and the people in the village are prone to various kinds of harmful disesases. Plan: Need to write a letter to GHMC commissioner to increase the frequency of waste collection in order to improve the health condition of the people. 3.Problem: Increasing number of mosquitoes in the village. Plan: Need to spray chemicals and maintain the drainage system regularly. writing a letter to GHMC may helpful to control the mosquito growth. Problem: Drainages are not regularly maintained Plan: Taking their issues to the government and helping them solve the issue will give a solution Problem: Manholes are open Plan: With the help of any NGO they should be closed and proper sign boards should be kept. Awareness should be created among the people about the harm caused by open manholes.

Blood donation camp was held on the eve of 78th foundation day of OBC bank in coordination with Indian Red cross society organized by NSS wing-GRIET on 19 Feb 2020. Around 309 units of blood was donated from the students and staff of GRIET. 300ml of blood was collected from each unit. These units of blood will be used by the hospitals and Blood Banks for the people in need. A blood camp will be conducted for every 6 months in our college.
