2015 Australian Rowing Team Selection Trials Provisional Invitation List as of: 18-Feb-15 Trial: 2015 Senior Team Location: SIRC - Penrith, NSW Trial Dates: 2nd - 7th March 2015 Key notes: 1 Tier 1-5 athletes have been listed recognising SIS SAS scholarship holders. 2 Trialing for all categories will commence on Monday 2nd March. 3 SIRC Bump in: please refer to previous email advice regarding access restriction to SIRC on Sat 28th Feb and Sunday 1st March. 4 There will be a compulsory Trials Briefing: Sunday 1st March at 5:30pm in the SIRC grandstand. 5 There will be a compulsory Australian Team planning and briefing day on Saturday 7th March for all selected athletes and coaches 6 Trials attendance for all Tiers 1, 2A and 2B athletes will be subsidised through their respective Institute or Academy. You may not know this but Josh Dunkley Smith attended his first Olympic Games in 1992. He was a mere toddler and your correspondent first met him at that event. He was there because his mother Addy was a distinguished sailor and a competitor in sailing at those Games. They later went on to combine with Thomas Ethell, Daniel DelRio and Nicholas Purnell (coxswain) from Canberra Boys Grammar School to also win GOLD in the Men's U19 Coxed Four and SILVER in the Schoolboy Coxed Four. Both Mat and Angus will be competing again at the National Junior Team Selection Regatta in April and are expected to be in contention for spots to the Junior World Championships.
