LUV' News October 2008 All About LUV' News Archives (October 2008) Patty Brard Vs Viola Holt - news posted on October 3rd 2008 The media like when they can shed light on the rivalry between female celebrities. That's what has recently happened with Patty Brard and Viola Holt . In a recent interview in AD (Algemeen Dagblad), the Shownieuws presenter and Joling & Brard: the golden duet of SBS 6!!! her SBS 6 colleague ( Gerard Joling ) have strongly criticized Holt . According to the duet of the high rated game show " Wie Ben Viola Holt: uninteresting for the TV channels!!! Ik? '', the relationship between Holt and Bonnie St. Claire (as they appeared in early 2007 in a TV docusoap) was fake. La Brard added that she is still active on TV whereas Holt isn't, though both of them are mature personnalities. It's not the first time that Patty has opponents in showbiz. The subject of this radio show was the 50th anniversary of Nederpop (Pop music produced in the Netherlands). Because Luv' is part of the story of Dutch music, Marga Scheide was asked to tell her impressions of the career of the girl group. She also said that when the female trio was very 1 popular in the late 1970's, it was hard to protect her privacy. She felt that people were spying on her. Fortunately, the Luv' ladies have fun today when they perform. She said: "With her presentation of Shownieuws , she can't experience what I've done during my career. Maybe is she dreaming of it?" La Brard answered: "I meant that Viola must remain herself. This minor hit peaked at #69 in September and only spent four weeks in the hit list. source: Media Control Charts. 5 Patty Brard and Patricia Paay : forced collaboration - news posted on October 16th 2008 Patricia Paay has recently been the guest on " Wie Ben Ik? ", the game show featuring Patty Brard as team captain. It's common knowledge that the two divas are enemies. Their rivalry started in 2003 when the two celebrities had their own reality TV show. Now they both work on SBS 6 : Paay is jury member on Popstars whereas Patty presents Shownieuws and takes part in Wie Ben Ik? That's why they've been forced by their channel to appear together in the game show (which is broadcast on Saturday at 9:55 PM). " on SBS 6 was watched by 1 114 000 viewers (market share: 18.3%). The ratings are still acceptable even there's a decline in comparison with the previous shows. There are two reasons for this slight decrease. On the one hand, the programme was scheduled half an hour later than usual (at 9.55 PM). On the other hand, competition with other channels (Nederland 1 and RTL 4) is intense. Fortunately, the public couldn't notice the tension between Patty Brard and Patricia Paay (see news posted on October 16th) . Neyman was a great Dutch singer who passed away in February. José was one of his friends in showbiz. She was of course utterly devastated when he died. Will Hoebee ( José 's husband) produced some of his biggest hits (like the #1 single Waarom Fluister Ik Je Naam in 1985). Other celebrities are also expected to write columns evoking memories of the late artist. source: De Telegraaf 7 Patty Brard gets her own magazine - news posted on October 23rd 2008 The "enfant terrible" of Luv' , Patty Brard , has recently been approached by Telegraaf Tijdschriften Groep (part of Telegraaf Media Groep N.V , the largest Dutch media and publishing company) to launch her own magazine. A single issue, in association with the celebrity gossip mag "Privé ", is planned for the moment. It's not the first time that the Shownieuws presenter is involved in a publication. In late 1992, the TV diva had already started a magazine: "Hello/Brard ". Maar in een ding hebben ze het afgelopen jaar wel allemaal gelijk gehad: Dat het zo belangrijk is om voor je Master Thesis een onderwerp te kiezen waar je oprecht interesse in hebt. Nou behoor ik al jaren tot de trouwe lezersgroep van vele vrouwentijdschriften en heb ik het de afgelopen maanden heerlijk gevonden om zelfs in bad mijn studiemateriaal te kunnen “analyseren”. Het grootste deel van de tijd heb ik dan ook met plezier aan dit onderzoek gewerkt. Van het SPSS gedeelte werd ik niet altijd even blij, maar met hulp van mijn begeleider, Marc Verboord, en het praktische SPSS Basishandboek ben ik toch een heel eind gekomen. Mijn dank hiervoor. Uit de maandelijkse bijeenkomsten heb ik ook altijd veel energie en motivatie kunnen halen. Na zo´n gesprek besefte ik me dat ik daadwerkelijk voortgang boekte en dat ook aan deze thesis een eind zou komen. Wat alleen op mijn kamer, na weer een dag typen, wel eens anders leek. Ook erg veel steun heb ik gehad van mijn familie, vriendinnen en vriend. Zij zorgden er in deze eenzame periode voor dat ik mijn kamer ook wel eens uit ging en naast mijn scriptie een leuk, sociaal leven behield. Dank jullie wel. Voor alles.     Op 23 oktober 1984 werd ik geboren als Jordy Cornelis Kuys in mijn geboortedorp Waarland. Doordat de navelstreng om mijn nek zat, kon ik niet meteen van me laten horen. Maar toen die eenmaal los was, liet ik aan de wijde omgeving merken dat ik er was door er een enorme krijs uit te gooien. Een hoge E. Spatzuiver, haha! Als zoon van de melkboer (ja, het is echt waar) wist ik al snel wat ik wilde worden: nee, geen melkboer. Maar wel iemand die graag in de belangstelling staat. Op familiefeestjes hoorde ik ooms en tantes op den duur al sissen 'daar gáán we weer' als ik in flamboyante kleding weer een optreden had voorbereid. Op de basisschool schreef meester Peter in m’n eindrapport van groep 8: ik zie je in de toekomst vast en zeker op het podium! En dat leek ook mijn enige echte roeping. M’n vader zag me echter ook graag eens een sport proberen. Hij had me niet voor niets naar de zoon van zijn grote idool genoemd: Jordy Cruijff. Jaja, ziet u nu waarom m’n initialen J.C. zijn? Maar ik had geen talent op het veld. Zo kwam ik al apetrots thuis en vertelde mijn vader als ik de bal bíjna geraakt had. Maar ik maakte van de nood een deugd en besloot de voetbalprestaties van m’n team op papier te zetten. Als de Razende Reporter verscheen wekelijks een verslag in het dorpsblad. Toch ben ik, na het seizoen te hebben afgemaakt, gestopt met voetballen. Ik wilde namelijk uit 'beroepsmatig perspectief' elke zaterdagochtend naar Telekids kijken.

She followed her lover to Los Angeles where she belonged to the jet set. As a former Luv' member, she was the first to start a solo career before Marga and José . In 1981, she only had one chart topper, Hold On To Love (#19 in Holland, Top 10 hit in Belgium, #12 in South Africa). She recorded a track ( Tender Love ) in duet with Eddie Kendricks (ex singer of The Temptations ) in 1986. 1 In the mid 1980's, she left the USA to come back to Europe because of better job opportunities. She became a TV presenter in Holland. In 1985, she hosted the 35th edition of the famous San Remo Festival broadcast on RAI UNO . However, it didn't lead to a career in Italy. The same year Patty and Carlo got married (1983), she gave birth to a daughter, Priscilla . Their marriage lasted five years. Nude photos of Patty were published in a 1988 Dutch issue of Playboy Magazine . Nowadays, such pictures can easily be found on internet. Van Hemert has complained about what he has considered as "small royalties" for the latest compilations and the DVD whereas the trio has been well paid for their performances between 2006 and 2008.
