12. 13. Music Therapy

The community of Nashville continues to overwhelm us with their warmth and generosity. In 2019 our Highway to Healing Program hit an even higher note than ever before, as we welcomed eleven talented singer/ from Music City! These artists visited camp to sit down with our campers and help them put their own thoughts and feelings to words, then to lyrics. Campers had the opportunity to not only write a song with the artist, but also perform in front of their camp peers on stage!

Lights,Lights, Camera,Camera, Action!Action! Music is a universal language that gives our campers, even those that may be non-verbal, the ability to share of themselves! This year we had the privilege of MATTHEW CHILDERS VIDEO PRODUCTION PROGRAM hosting: Jordan Minton, Jordan Reynolds, Nick Wayne, Waterloo Revival, Terrell

Davy, A Thousand Horses, Kyle Daniel, Vinyl Pinups, Sarahbeth Taite, Jeremiah In 2019, CCK was thrilled to add a brand new program for our summer campers! Richey and Zach Stone as part of our Highway to Healing Program. The 2019 Summer Camp served as the inaugural summer for The Matthew Childers Video Production Program. Each camper who participated in the program got to see what it was like to be a famous filmmaker as they were offered the ability to learn elements of video production including: storyboarding, equipment usage, production, editing, interviews and much more! Each week a group of our oldest campers created their very own video that they were able to showcase to their fellow campers. This program gave the children we serve an incredible opportunity to show others the camp experience through their eyes! The power of camp programs such as video production go far beyond the fun. The power lies in the lives changed each week. The power is in the children who go on to pursue new passions, like videography! James Cameron better watch out, a CCK Camper could be headed to Hollywood to take his seat in the director’s chair!

This program was made possible this year through the generous support of Zak and Cassie Boca. 14. 15. INDIVIDUAL Donors
