A Message From Pope Francis Stella Maris n the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, in his Apostolic OLetterPatris Corde, Pope Francis declared a “Year of St. Joseph” Parish to coincide with the 150th anniversary of the proclamation of this great saint as Patron of the Catholic Church (8 Dec 1870). The aim Bucksport, Castine, of this Letter is to increase our love for Saint Joseph, to encourage and Stonington us to implore his intercession and to imitate his virtues. “Get up, take the child and his mother” (Mt 2:13), God told Joseph. With a b father’s heart: that is how he loved Jesus, whom all four Gospels Rev. Anthanasius S. Wirsiy refer to as “the son of Joseph.” The saints not only obtain miracles Parochial Vicar and graces, but they intercede for us before God, like Jesus, who is our “advocate” with the Father (1 Jn 2:1). Jesus told us: “Learn from PARISH OFFICE me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart” (Mt 11:29). By his eloquent St. Vincent de Paul silence, St. Joseph says the same. - Excerpted from Patris Corde, 8 Dec 2020 PO Box S / 60 Franklin Street Bucksport, ME 04416 Mass Intentions (207) 469-3322
