It is interesting to note that some incumbents received large contributions although they did not have serious opposition in general or primary campaigns, i.e., Garmatz of Maryland- no general election opposition; Meeds of Washington - received 72.7% of the vote. (NOTE: Because of the similarity in names such as Anderson of California and Anderson of Tennessee, we did not insert exact figures. From the available information, however, they fall in the range indicated. The minimum amount of money in each range was included in the total figures presented.)
