Keanekaragaman Kupu-Kupu (Lepidoptera) Di Sekitar Pinggiran Sungai Maslete Kabupaten Timor Tengah Utara BIOEDU, Vol. 4, No. 2, Agustus 2019: (49-55) Keanekaragaman Kupu-Kupu (Lepidoptera) di Sekitar Pinggiran Sungai Maslete Kabupaten Timor Tengah Utara Maria Mathilda Nino Prodi Pendidikan Biologi Universitas Timor Kefamenanu, TTU-NTT, 85613 Email: [email protected] Abstrak Penelitian tentang keanekaragaman kupu-kupu sudah banyak dilakukan khususnya di pulau Jawa, namun belum semua wilayah di Indonesia diperoleh data tentang keanekaragaman kupu-kupu. Salah satu di Kabupaten Timor Tengah Utara masih belum banyak dilakukan, khususnya di sekitar pinggiran sungai Maslete, Kabupaten Timor Tengah Utara. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jenis-jenis kupu-kupu, untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman kupu-kupu, untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor lingkungan yang mempengaruhi kehidupan kupu-kupu di sekitar pinggiran sungai Maslete Kabupaten Timor Tengah Utara serta untuk mengetahui implementasi hasil penelitian dalam pembelajaran biologi di sekolah. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode jelajah. Penentuan lokasi pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan metode purposive sampling. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan mengikuti garis transek sepanjang 500m, Pada garis transek dibuat substransek. Jarak antar subtransek yaitu 250m. Pada masing-masing subtransek dibuat 2 buah plot berukuran 5x5 m2. Kupu-kupu ditangkap menggunakan jaring dan identifikasi berdasarkan cirri morfologi kupu-kupu. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis keanekaragamannya menggunakan indeks keanekaragaman Shannon-wienner. Hasil penelitian di sekitar pinggiran sungai maslete ditemukan 7 jenis kupu- kupu yang tergolong dalam 3 famili yaitu Pieridae dengan 3 jenis, Nymphalidae dengan 2 jenis dan Papilionidae dengan 2 jenis. Indeks keanekaragaman kupu-kupu di sekitar pinggiran sungai maslete tergolong rendah dengan nilai H’ 0,9884. Hasil pengukuran parameter lingkungan di sekitar pinggiran sungai Maslete menunjukkan bahwa suhu udara berkisar antara 34,37-34,67o C dan kelembaban udara berkisar antara 57-59%.     SOUTH AUSTRALIAN BUTTERFLIES Data Sheet Catopsilia scylla etesia (Hewitson) (Orange Migrant) Interesting aspects : This butterfly seems to be more intolerant of cooler conditions than the other two Catopsilia migrant species. Life History Larval food-host : Cassia spp, the tropical and subtropical varieties with larger flowers incl. * C. fistula (golden shower) (Caesalpiniaceae), also Tephrosia sp. (Fabaceae) . Eggs : Larvae : Pupae : Flight period : The butterfly is seen all year round in the tropical north of Australia. It has migrant tendencies, moving south into subtropical latitudes during the monsoon wet period. Distribution : Normally a tropical butterfly. The butterfly has yet to be observed in South Australia, bu t as it has been seen in the southern parts of the Northern Territory, there is a faint possibility the butterfly will eventually be observed in the far north of the state during an extended wet monsoonal summer period. Habitat : The butterfly normally requires tropical, humid woodland habitat. Potential Tephrosia hostplants occur sporadically in the far-north of South Australia, and the introduced Cassia fistula is sometimes grown in the homesteads and town gardens in the same area. It is possible that brief opportunistic breeding could occur in that area if the butterfly made it that far south during its migrations. The butterfly is not biologically suited to the temperate conditions of southern South Australia. Conservation Status : A migrant. Locally common in the tropical north of Australia. The migration of butterflies from the Arroceros Park to the roof top Manila, Philippines garden of UDM was identified. This study focuses on the factors that influence the pattern of butterfly migration at UDM. Quantitative random sampling was utilized. Frequency of butterfly visits were recorded twice a month for one year from June 2015 to May 2016 between 9 am to 5 pm daily. Lux meter was used to measure the intensity of light. There were 22 species of butterflies identified, corresponding to certain groups of nectarine food plants and larval host plants. Migration of butterflies towards the roof top garden was generally influenced by the presence of host plants and nectarine plants in UDM garden. There is a need to maintain these plants throughout the year to conserve the butterfly species that have an identified occurrence in this particular urban garden. Salah satu di Kabupaten Timor Tengah Utara masih belum banyak dilakukan, khususnya di sekitar pinggiran sungai Maslete, Kabupaten Timor Tengah Utara. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jenis-jenis kupu-kupu, untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman kupu-kupu, untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor lingkungan yang mempengaruhi kehidupan kupu- kupu di sekitar pinggiran sungai Maslete Kabupaten Timor Tengah Utara serta untuk mengetahui implementasi hasil penelitian dalam pembelajaran biologi di sekolah. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode jelajah. Penentuan lokasi pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan metode purposive sampling. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan mengikuti garis transek sepanjang 500m, Pada garis transek dibuat substransek. Jarak antar subtransek yaitu 250m. Pada masing-masing subtransek dibuat 2 buah plot berukuran 5x5 m2. Kupu-kupu ditangkap menggunakan jaring dan identifikasi berdasarkan cirri morfologi kupu-kupu. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis keanekaragamannya menggunakan indeks keanekaragaman Shannon-wienner. Hasil penelitian di sekitar pinggiran sungai maslete ditemukan 7 jenis kupu-kupu yang tergolong dalam 3 famili yaitu Pieridae dengan 3 jenis, Nymphalidae dengan 2 jenis dan Papilionidae dengan 2 jenis. Indeks keanekaragaman kupu-kupu di sekitar pinggiran sungai maslete tergolong rendah dengan nilai H’ 0,9884.

Butterfly populations can show large natural fluctuations. Butterfly distribution and abundance depends on variations in weather for the short-term as well as alterations and disturbances in habitat quality and availability for the long term. In this study the diversity of butterflies in the City Garden Banda Aceh was studied. This study aimed to identify biodiversity and composition of butterfly, abundance of butterflies correlate to photoperiodic and correlation abiotic factors (temperature and humidity) and butterfly abundance in this garden. The exploratory survey method was performed in the study. The sampling was conducted three times a day on 8.00am – 10.00am (morning), 11.00am – 1.00pm (noon) and 3.00pm - 5.00pm (afternoon) for 15 days. Butterflies were collected using the insect net (40 cm in diameter and 200 cm in stalk), followed the track which existing in the garden. The study was conducted in March to May 2017. A total of 523 individual of butterflies belong to 30 species and seven families, namely; Amanthusidae, Danaidae, Lycaenidae, Nymphalidae, Papilionidae, Pieridae, and Satyridae.
