Day one Begin the day with a 12-minute walk over Pont des Invalides to Berges de Seine. BERGES DE SEINE Quai d’Orsay, 75000 Paris Berges de Seine is a pedestrianized riverside promenade that’s packed full of activities for all the family. From climbing walls and board games to hopscotch and relaxation areas, there’s a lot to discover on this stretch of the Left Bank. Take a leisurely walk along Berges de Seine from Pont des Invalides to the Eiffel Tower, where you’ll also discover the Parc du Champ de Mars, a beautiful landscaped park at the foot of the city’s most iconic structure. Next, take a 35-minute drive to Château de Versailles. CHÂTEAU DE VERSAILLES T: 01 30 83 78 00 Place d’Armes, 78000 Versailles Château de Versailles is one of the most beautiful palaces in the world. Make a visit even more memorable by touring the palace’s grounds and royal gardens on horseback with a local riding school. While there, it’s also possible for equine enthusiasts to enjoy a guided tour of the royal stables or witness a training session at the Academy of Equestrian Arts. From Château de Versailles, it’s a 15-minute drive to the next stop, Le Golf National. The club is renowned worldwide and features two championship 18-hole courses, Albatros and Aigle, and a nine-hole course, L’Oiselet. There’s also an excellent clubhouse serving post-game refreshments. Then, head to Saint-Germain-en-Laye, a 30-minute drive from Le National Golf. Its extensive grounds comprise beautiful parklands and the Forest of Saint-Germain-en-Laye, which is bordered by the River Seine. While connected to the castle, the land is open to the public and visitors are invited to enjoy a picturesque hike, run or cycle through the ancient woodlands and landscaped gardens. The final location of the day, Tennis Club de la Châtaigneraie, is a 20-minute drive away. TENNIS CLUB DE LA CHÂTAIGNERAIE T: 01 47 51 66 72 | 6-12 Avenue de la Châtaigneraie, 92500 Rueil Malmaison Tennis enthusiasts won’t want to miss the chance to play on the same courts of many of the world’s greatest tennis players. Champions like Serena Williams, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Maria Sharapova have battled it out at Tennis Club de la Châtaigneraie, and you can too. There are 10 covered courts that can be rented out by the hour, and lessons are also available for those who want to brush up on their serve. To get back to the hotel, hail a taxi for a 30-minute drive. Day two Start the final day of the itinerary with a picturesque 20-minute drive along the river to Promenade Plantée. PROMENADE PLANTÉE 1 Coulée verte René-Dumont, 75012 Paris Promenade Plantée is one of the most unusual public spaces in Pairs, popular with locals and the occasional in-the-know tourist. Similar to New York City’s High Line, a large proportion of this narrow park is built atop old elevated train tracks. The whole path is almost 4.5km long, flanked by beautiful greenery, flowers, fountains and wildlife – an ideal place for a morning stroll. Next, take a 10-minute drive or a 25-minute walk to Joséphine Baker Swimming Pool. PISCINE JOSÉPHINE BAKER T: 01 56 61 96 50 | Quai François Mauriac, 75013 Paris As it’s unsafe to swim in the Seine, enjoy a swim at the Joséphine Baker Swimming Pool instead. The innovative floating pool, built into a giant barge, was the first of its kind in Paris and features four lanes for swimmers of all levels. In the summer, the glass roof rolls back, providing visitors with a memorable al fresco experience that almost feels like swimming in the Seine itself. Then take a 15-minute taxi ride to the Bois de Vincennes. It’s a hotbed of sporting activities such as boating on the lakes, cycling through the meadows and woodlands, mini-golf at the 18-hole course, horse riding on the designated tracks and racing at the hippodrome. There are also plenty of attractions to explore including a zoo, a bird sanctuary, a number of theatres, a Buddhist temple, a funfair and the Château de Vincennes. Take a 35-minute drive to the harbour next to the Pont de l’Alma. RIVER SEINE T: 01 42 25 96 10 | Bateaux Mouches, Port de la Conférence, 75008 Paris As the afternoon draws to a close, head off on a river cruise. Bateaux Mouches offers a variety of sightseeing tours complete with commentary and fine-dining. Drifting past the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, the Louvre and other Paris highlights, it is the perfect way to see the city of lights. Take a taxi for the 20-minute journey to the final stop of the day, Le Caveau de la Huchette. LE CAVEAU DE LA HUCHETTE T: 01 43 26 65 05 | 5 Rue de la Huchette, 75005 Paris Back on dry land, put on your dancing shoes and head off for an evening at Le Caveau de la Huchette. A fixture on Paris’ jazz music scene since 1946, the bar hosts live music and dancing all week. Those keen of eye will recognise the space from its fleeting appearance in the movie, La La Land. To get back to the hotel, take a 15-minute drive or a 50-minute walk along the river. All journey times are approximate and subject to variation.     Spring Break in Paris Friday, March 21st to Sunday, March 30th, 2014 What you’ll do . Friday, March 21st – You’ll depart from Huntsville or Nashville International Airport bound for Europe. Usually there is a stop in one of the major cities of the east coast in order to catch your trans-Atlantic flight to Paris. Saturday, March 22nd – After flying through the night, you’ll land at Charles de Gaulle International Airport. After collecting your luggage and passing through customs, you’ll transfer into the city, usually by train. On evening one, there’s a short time for resting and refreshing at the hotel before heading out into the city for dinner and some sightseeing. You will ascend the 58-story Tour Montparnasse for the best views of Paris as the sun goes down and the lights come on in the city. Sunday, March 23rd– You’ll visit the Royal Palace of Versailles, just outside of Paris. In addition to touring the palace itself, you’ll want to visit the gardens, since Sunday is the only day the world-famous fountains are turned on. You will also have the opportunity to visit the Grand and Petit Trianon, small palaces built by the king on the grounds of Versailles in order to escape the pressures of palace life. Also not to be missed is the village-like hameau of Marie Antoinette. Later, you’ll head back to Paris for dinner and a visit to the Sacré-Coeur Basilica in Montmartre, the bohemian quarter of Paris. In Montmartre, you’ll also visit the Place du Tertre, where an artist will paint your portrait for a price.

    Théophile-Alexandre STEINLEN (Lausanne 1859 - Paris 1923) Au Bois de Boulogne Pen and black ink and watercolour, within an irregularly shaped overmount. Signed Steinlen at the right centre. Inscribed and signed (by Aristide Bruant) 'Quand on cherche un femme à Paris / Maint’nant même en y mettant l’prix / On n’rencontre plus qu’ des debris / ou d’la charogne; / Mais pour trouver c’qu’on a d’besoin / Il existe encore un bon coin / C’est au bout d’Paris…pas ben loin: / Au bois d’ Boulogne. A Bruant' on the mount. 289 x 219 mm. [sheet, at greatest dimensions] This drawing by Steinlen illustrates the song ‘Au Bois de Boulogne’ by Aristide Bruant, and was used for the cover of the July 1891 issue of Le Mirliton, a Parisian journal founded by Bruant in 1885 and named after his café of the same name. The cover, as eventually printed, incorporated the score and the lyrics of the song, which alludes to the nocturnal activities known to take place in the Bois de Boulogne, the large park near the western edge of Paris. The lyrics to the song, written by Bruant on the mount of this drawing by Steinlen, may be approximately translated as ‘When looking for a woman in Paris / Nowadays, even if one pays good money / We only meet debris / or carrion; / But to find what you need / There is still a good spot / It’s at the end of Paris ... not far away: / At the Bois de Boulogne.’ As Phillip Dennis Cate has noted of Bruant, ‘His songs were of street people…sung in the argot of the street.

ANNUAL MEETING CO-CHAIRS Professor Emmanuel Chartier-Kastler Prof. E. Chartier-Kastler MD, is a urologist professor of urology at the department of urology, medical school Pierre et Marie Curie, and head of the functional urology program. He is involved in all major international congresses of urology as committee member, speaker, chairman and/or guest speaker. He was an active member of the 2022 committee for conservative treatment in the neuropathic area during the International Consultation on Incontinence (ICI) from 1998 to 2006 and the recent SIU-ICUD consultation on spinal cord injury as co-chair of a committee. He has been member of the organizing committee of major international meetings (ICS-IUGA 2004 and 100th SIU 2007 congress) which took 6 - 9 SEPTEMBER place in Paris and national meetings (French congress organizer 2005, 2006 and 2007). He co-chaired the 2015 International UroGynecological Association congress in France (Nice, 2015 June 9 to 12). He is the French member of the IMC AUA (2011- 2017).He leads the ICS Neurourology promotion committee. PARIS Prof. Chartier-Kastler published more than 320 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, especially in the field of incontinence and neuro-urology.
