DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE Strength. Stability. Service. I could not be more proud to present the 7th annual AAMDC business services directory. I am hoping that the first thing that our partners notice is our new name and logo. After an extensive process, we have transitioned away from the AAMDC brand to the Rural Mu- nicipalities of Alberta (RMA). We are excited to support an updated and inclusive brand. It should be noted that the RMA brand will carry on throughout our organization including RMA Trade (formerly Trade division), RMA Insurance (formerly Jubilee Insurance Agencies Ltd.), and RMA Fuel (formerly PFA Canada). To go with our new brand is a renewed focus on Strength, Stability, and Service. RMA Business Services has successfully built and managed programs dating back over 80 years and continues to grow in size and scope. We are as committed to service today as were back in 1936. We have been able to attract and retain the best staff in our industries, and when coupled with the most loyal membership base in Canada, we can see the future is truly bright for RMA. This directory showcases the vendors the we have chosen to partner with. Several of them have been with us for over 40 years. Whether they are long standing, or more recent entrants, all of our vendors share our commitment to service and creating value. RMA is blessed to have vendors that are the best in class across the scope of our offer- ings and our members see the benefits of this. Through our rebranding process we heard from our membership that the RMA is a trusted partner, providing great service. It is our commitment to ensure that we continue to meet and exceed those expectations. Thanks, DUANE GLADDEN Director of Business Services Rural Municipalities of Alberta RMA BUSINESS SERVICES DIRECTORY 2018 1 RMA BUSINESS SERVICES STAFF Our RMA Business Service staff work hard to ensure that you receive quality and compet- itively priced goods and services so that we can create budget efficiencies and enhance your buying power. The Trade Division has grown to be a valuable resource by helping the public sector in the procurement of goods and services. This growth has been largely due to consistent feedback and partici- pation of over 800 members across Alberta. We have created a Trade Advisory Committee whose primary purpose is to provide judi- cious advice from a member perspective to the Trade Division. Advisory committee ac- tivities may include the study of critical issues, hearing member testimony, independent research, advocacy, and reviewing staff reports and recommendations—all of which help the committee prepare to discuss, formulate, and forward well-developed and thoughtful recommendations to the Trade Division. TRADE ADVISORY COMMITTEE STRUCTURE The RMA’s Business Services Trade Advisory Committee members are appointed by the Director of Business Services and their respective associations and governed by the RMA Board of Directors. The Trade Advisory Committee is comprised of select members and approved suppliers. The committee was developed to share feedback, perspectives, and issues, and develop recommendations in a small focused group structure. The structure of the committee will be comprised of: • 2 RMA staff members • 2 AMSA members • 2 Urban Associate members • 1 ARMAA member • 1 Non-Urban member • 2 Approved Suppliers The Trade Advisory Committee holds four meetings per year. Each committee member represent the views of their respective industry or market, bringing value-added knowl- edge and experience.
