Fifth Avenue is the premier luxury retail district in North America—boasting flagship stores and boutiques for some of the world’s most elite department stores, designers, and luxury jewelers as well as exquisite restaurants and internationally renowned hotels. New York City attracts 61.5 million tourists annually. Visitor spending has increased 70% since 2010. New York City is also home to more than 57 billionaires and 720,000 millionaires, making it the wealthiest city in the country. Fifth Avenue is one of the most trafficked streets and produces some of the highest retail sales in the world. The New York Metropolitan Area tops the list of metro-area wealth centers and its total number of millionaires is greater than the combined total of the next three largest centers— Los Angeles, Chicago, and Washington, D.C. Additionally, the New York Metropolitan Area leads the nation in its population of ultra high net worth individuals with 7,720 people in the area with a net worth of $30 million or more. 640 Fifth Avenue sits in the heart of the largest office market in the world. Approximately 410 million square feet of office space exists in New York City, of which 392 million is located in Manhattan. Manhattan’s office inventory is greater than the next 5 largest U.S. markets combined and features some of the most iconic and desired office properties in the world. 640 Fifth Avenue is situated at the epicenter of the Midtown Manhattan business submarket. The property’s central location will provide a retail destination for the high-density professional foot traffic surrounding the property. Early last century, industrial piers stretched up the Hudson River from the Battery to the Upper West Side. Most respectable New Yorkers shied away from the working waterfront and therefore lived toward the middle of the island. But in today’s postindustrial Manhattan, the West Side is a highly desirable—and expensive— place, home to residential developments catering to the well-to-do who want to live close to the waterfront and its now recreational piers.

Reprinted from http://www.glbtq.com The first international fashion superstar, Halston was a master of cut, detail, and finish. He dressed and befriended some of America's most glamorous women. Jackie Kennedy Onassis, Elizabeth Taylor, Babe Paley, Barbara Walters, Lauren Bacall, Bianca Jagger, and Liza Minnelli were just some of the women who wore Halston. Roy Halston Frowick was born on April 23, 1932 in Des Moines, Iowa, the second son of a Norwegian- American accountant with a passion for inventing. Roy developed an interest in sewing from his mother. As an adolescent he began creating hats and embellishing outfits for his mother and sister. Roy graduated from high school in 1950 then attended Indiana University for one semester. After the family moved to Chicago in 1952, he enrolled in a night course at the Chicago Art Institute and worked as a window dresser. Frowick's first big break came when the Chicago Daily News ran a brief story on his fashionable hats. In 1957 he opened his first shop, the Boulevard Salon, on Michigan Avenue. It was at this point that he began to use his middle name as his professional moniker. With the help of a lover twenty-five years his senior, celebrity hair stylist André Basil, Halston further developed his career by moving to New York later in 1957. Basil introduced Halston to milliner Lilly Daché, who offered him a job. Within a year he had been named co-designer at Daché, become the new best friend of several fashion editors and publishers, and left Daché's studio to become head milliner for department store Bergdorf Goodman.

DONALD TRUMP REFLECTS ON HIS BEGINNINGS, VENTURES, AND PLANS FOR THE FUTURE Donald Trump Chairman and President The Trump Organization December 15, 2014 Excerpts from Mr. Trump's Remarks Are you considering running for President? I am considering it very strongly. How did you get started in business, buying a hotel, with almost no money? Well, it was owned by the Penn Central Railroad and it was run by some very good people. Actually, it's very interesting, because he happens to be a very good man. It was Victor Palmieri and Company. And one of the people is John Koskinen. Does anyone know John Koskinen? He's the head of the IRS. And he's a very good man. And while I'm a strong conservative and a strong Republican, he's a friend of mine. And he did a great job running Victor Palmieri. And I made deals with John and the people at Victor Palmieri and took options to the building. And after I took options to the Commodore, I then went to the city. Because the city was really in deep trouble. I was about 28 years old, and the city was really in trouble. And I said look, you're going to have to give me tax abatement. Otherwise this was never going to happen. Then I went to Hyatt. I said you guys put up all the money and I'll try and get the approvals. And I got all the approvals. And Hyatt, Jay Pritzker and the Pritzker family, they put up the money.
