• GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: • The Staff Psychologist and EDI Outreach Coordinator is a full time professional staff position reporting to the Director of the Student Counseling Center. The Student Counseling Center seeks an innovative team member who is committed to effectively working with students from a broad range of backgrounds and who has a demonstrated commitment and experience to diversity, equity, and inclusion when providing counseling, crisis intervention, outreach and community-based interventions, consultations, and supervision and training.

• ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: • Offer direct multiculturally-attuned psychotherapy services to undergraduate and graduate/professional students including initial and crisis 30-minute triage consultations, short- term individual therapy, group therapy, and effective referrals to community mental health providers for long-term or specialized care. • Serve as a primary clinical supervisor to our advanced doctoral level practicum trainees and collaborate with senior staff to facilitate and participate in professional development seminars and our anti-oppression affinity-based groups. • Work with SCC staff as we all strive to develop collaborative relationships and programming with various campus partners that are serving our historically marginalized populations (e.g. Student Multicultural Center, Center for Gender Equity, Intercollegiate Athletics, International Programs, Hawaii Outreach and Programming, Association of Latinx and Ally Students, Black Student Union, Office of Accessibility and Accommodations, etc.). • Development and implementation of outreach programs, workshops, and community healing spaces focused on solidarity and increasing a sense of belonging with our historically underrepresented students. • Participate and effectively collaborate with senior staff in our weekly case assignment and clinical review team, weekly consultation meeting, and monthly administrative/vision planning, monthly multicultural professional development reading group, monthly outreach & consultation meeting, and monthly supervision and training meeting. • Serve as a mental health and EDI consultant in division or university-wide committees, meetings, and events that are focused on serving our historically marginalized students. • Offer EDI-informed consultations to faculty, staff, and family members regarding responding to students in distress. • Time is allocated for support and connection within affinity spaces (i.e., BIPOC staff and faculty to have support and solidarity working in a predominately white institution or our anti-racist white accountability group for faculty & staff). • Maintenance of appropriate clinical documentation, case management, and scheduling using Titanium Schedule, our electronic medical record system. • Work with senior staff in the development/review of agency policy and procedures, and protocols for client and emergency management with an equity lens. • Must be able to provide routine early evening and occasional weekend services. • Clinic schedule established collaboratively, but primary consideration is clinic service delivery and adequate coverage, which requires flexibility and episodic changes to schedule. • SCC staff work in both our Forest Grove and Hillsboro clinics.

• SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: • Perform other related duties as assigned. • Occasional rotating on-call crisis consultation for evenings, weekends, and holidays when Director is unavailable to be on-call. • Occasional need to collaborate with senior staff to provide administrative support when our Clinical Coordinator is out of the office.

• JOB SCOPE: • Scope falls within Essential Functions described above • No budget authority • Oversight of special projects on occasion in collaboration with Student Counseling Center Director and colleagues • Performs duties independently, operating from specific Student Counseling Center policies and procedures and general university policies • Complies with legal and ethical standards governing psychological practice (in accord with the Board of Psychology and the American Psychological Association)

• SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITY: Job has no employee/administrative supervisory responsibility

• REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: • Licensed as a psychologist in the state of Oregon (i.e., or licensed in your state of residence with the ability to promptly be licensed in Oregon). • Doctorate in Counseling Psychology or Clinical Psychology • Cultural humility, knowledge, and demonstrated experience • Experience in a university/ counseling center

• PREFERRED CRITERIA: • Preferred ability to provide bilingual clinical and outreach services to the campus community.

• REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & BEHAVIORS: a) Demonstrable experience in and commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion. Commitment to ongoing development of multicultural/intercultural awareness, sensitivity, and humility. b) Evidence of skill in being able to build collaborative relationships with campus partners c) Ability to provide brief individual counseling to our diverse student body that presents with a wide-range of presenting concerns. d) Evidence of skill in offering clinical supervision to graduate level students. e) Evidence of skill in effectively assessing, intervening, and providing appropriate follow-up care for students facing mental health emergencies. f) Evidence of skill in offering consultation to faculty, staff, parents and students. g) Ability to assist in needs assessment and outcome evaluations. h) Uses effective intercultural communication skills taking into consideration body language, listening, paraphrasing, and questions with students of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds. i) Communicates with students, faculty, staff, and the public appropriate to the age and development level of the individual served. j) Builds on basic learning and carries it from one situation to another. k) Demonstrates critical thinking skills with an equity lens in problem solving and decision-making. • WORKING CONDITIONS: • Typical office environment. • Routine evening and occasional weekend hours required. • Ability to travel between clinics as necessary • Staff psychologist is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (i.e., typical office environment)
