George recently drove his Chamberlain tractor all the way from Smoky Bay to Coober Pedy to join up with a larger group travelling through outback towns and eventually ending up at Birdsville. Their vast intinery of town include some that many of us have never heard of as when you dive a tractor you don’t need to stick to the bitumen.

Whilst everyone is a member of the famous Chamberlain 9G Tractor Club in Western Australia, the current tour was a private matter.

The Chamberlain 9G Tractor Club members are renown for their fundraising efforts for the Royal Children’s Hospital and The Royal Flying Doctor Service.

George Baldwin in fact personally delivered a blood pressure monitor to the Coober Pedy Hospital 6 years ago, purchased from their fund raising efforts on an official fundrasing tour.

George spotted Bryce Tickner’s NO MORE campaign on a poster in town and commented that it was great that outback men are setting the pace in speaking out on issues men would normally brace themselves against.

Being a survivor of prostate cancer, George felt it was ok to talk about it and in the doing encourage men to say how they felt to others which can lead to taking action in time to save lives.

Ken Williams manager of the Opal Inn Hotel was already checking out the tractors considering whether or not they Bill Taylor, Charlie Gardner, Opal Inn Manager Ken Williams, Susan Ruby at the back, George would be suitable for towing his horse float to the race meets!
