Only a few f $ swimmers left I

Boca Raton's summer learn-to-swim program is down to the wire now, and only a few of the dedi- cated swimmers (and mothers) are still hanging or.. Because of scheduling difficulties and the ab- sence of a municipal pool, it was necessary to schedule two "swimmers" classes at the Cabana Club pool after the regular sessions ended. They start at 7 a«,m. But then, so does News Photograph- er Jack Hutton.

Not quite so pastoral

Time was, perhaps in a more leisurely era, that an artist — amateur or professional — might pack a picnic in a wicker basket, load up the oils and easels and venture off for a day of painting and sketching of pastoral scenes in the •countryside. Despite reports of increasing leisure time, things seem really to b e less leisurely. The pastoral scenes seem to be fewer and far between. The countryside seems to be more distant each time we search for it. Amateur painters in Boca Raton have moved indoors, work in the evenings, and enjoy the flourescent, air-conditioned comfort of the Community Center. This is how the scene looks at the Center's Tuesday evening art classes.
