The girls 200 medley relay won with a fantastic anchor by junior Valerie Anne Staffeldt. Junior Lillie Nordmann won the 200 freestyle and broke the state record in the 100 fly. Sophomore Cameron Cash took third in diving with an impressive score of 499.65. Sophomore Tyler Hulet earned gold in the 100 backstroke! The boys 400 free relay won gold and set a new school record with Matthew Tannenburger coming from behind in the last 100 win the event! We’re very proud of all the hard work the swimmers and divers put in this season.

BOYS BASKETBALL: The Varsity Boys Basketball season came to an end last Monday night as our Highlanders fell to the Eisenhower Eagles in the Bi District game at DeKaney HS 64-43. We ended up with a 19-15 (9-7) record and we made the playoffs for a 14th straight year. Overall this was a really fun season and our players worked hard to achieve their goals. We will start open gyms after Spring Break.

Congratulations to the JV Boys Basketball Team for an amazing year. The team finished with an overall record of 24-3 and were Co-District Champions with a district record of 15-1. The future seems bright for the Highlander Boys Basketball Program and we all look forward to seeing these young men progress.

The Sophomore basketball team concluded their season falling short to both Oak Ridge and College Park but finished as district champs posting a 19-8 record going 14-2 in district. This a resilient team who was in every game and fought until the end. Congratulations on a great season.

The Freshmen Red Boys Basketball finished the season with an overall record of 12 - 15, with a district record of 8 - 8. The Red team's second to last game was against Oak Ridge, they won 55 - 17. The last game of the year was against College Park. The outcome wasn't in the Highlanders favor but had to be one of the best games of the season. The Red team lost on a last second shot 56 - 58. Really proud of these young men and their effort all season long.

HIGHLANDER SOFTBALL: The Highlander Softball Team competed in the NFCA Leadoff Classic in Bryan/College Station this past weekend. They took 3rd place out of 64 teams who were there competing from all over the state. For her performance on the weekend, senior catcher, Jordan Neely was named the Houston Chronicle's Female Athlete of the Week.

The Highlanders were set to to host their own tournament this weekend, but Mother Nature had other plans. That will be rescheduled for 3/28 and 3/30. The girls will be back in action at home in a district ballgame versus Klein Oak on MONDAY, 2/25. This game has been moved up due to the threat of rain on Tuesday and Wednesday. They will then compete in the Sienna Varsity Tournament Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Missouri City. If you can't make it to the games, you can follow the #4 team in the state on GameChanger or on Twitter @twhssoftball and our website, www.twhsoftball.com has all of the up to date information. Admission is FREE. The TWHS Student Art show is on view from 5-7 pm in the front foyer of the main campus and the movie will be screened at 7 pm (running time 53 minutes). After the movie, we will offer student-lead tours of our collection from 8-9 pm. The collection consists of 44 pieces spread over 3 floors of the main campus building. Although the artworks are purchased with designated funds from the Student Council’s Homecoming Dance, the framing, lighting and conservation of these pieces need funding. Consider helping with that funding and show your support for The Woodlands High School Art Trust by joining our "One Hundred Friends of Art." Our goal is to have 100 arts supporters make an annual donation to support our cause. Donations are tax deductible and start as low as $10!! Visit our website to make a contribution: www.twhsat.org This collection is supported solely through donations, please show your support with even a small donation today!

Tours of our collection are available to schools and other groups. Please contact us at [email protected] if you would like to take a free tour of our collection.

The Woodlands High School Art Trust (TWHSAT) a 501(c)3 organization, was established in 2011 to help maintain, conserve and display the student-selected, student-purchased collection of established artists at The Woodlands High School. The vision for the TWHS Art Trust is to see the art collection grow each year and to have it extend through the hallways of the high school. Students use funds from their Homecoming Dance to purchase the art works. TWHSAT fundraises for the preservation and permanent display of the art works. For more information on The Woodlands High School Art Trust please visit our website www.twhsat.org or contact Susan Cosculluela at [email protected]
