The Latest Edition of Our President's Newsletter. Now Just 13 Days Welcome to the latest edition of our President's Newsletter. Now just 13 days until the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 curling begins the excitement is really beginning to ramp up. To give you a flavour of what to expect come Games time we have worked with the Olympic Channel to make every curling match of Sochi 2014 available for you to watch. But, it is not just the Olympics we are building towards and getting excited about, we also have the Paralympics and all our World Curling Championships to follow in the coming months. To all the athletes competing and Member Associations being represented in PyeongChang and throughout the rest of the season, good luck and good curling. On a personal note I am honoured to have received the "Women and Sport" Achievement Diploma from the International Olympic Committee President, Thomas Bach. The diploma recognises contributions to promoting the development and participation of women and girls in sport - something that is very close to me. I have also been named Dean of the China Curling College of Beijing Sport University. Be inspired by Sochi 2014 videos ahead of PyeongChang 2018 You can now relive all the curling action from the Olympic Winter Games Sochi 2014 – in anticipation of the 2018 Games in PyeongChang, Republic of Korea. The Olympic Channel has made available every curling match from the previous Games in Russia, four years ago, and these are available to watch on our website – www.worldcurling.org/sochi2014-replay From the very rst stone thrown to Canada’s men’s team collecting gold medals in the nal, every minute of curling coverage is linked into the 2014 event schedule. Event bidding calendar If you are interested in bidding for a future international curling event you can now see what hosts we are seeking between 2018 and 2022, click to download our calendar. Curling World Cup - China launch Our new four-stage competition, set to begin in September, will be named the Curling World Cup. This was confirmed at a signing ceremony in Beijing last week with the Chinese Curling Association and Kingdomway Sports. Sign-up - Athlete365 Athlete365 is a resource - with stories, advice and much more - produced by the International Olympic Committee for athletes. To sign up, www.olympic.org/athlete365/ The anti-doping ecosystem The International Olympic Committee has produced a useful infographic showing each stage of the anti-doping ecosystem. Also, remember the latest Prohibited List came into force on 1 January 2018. Keep Reading MA spotlight Thanks to its men’s team qualifying for the World Men's Curling Championship 2018 in Las Vegas, United States and playing at the Olympic Qualification Event in Pilsen, Czech Republic, curling has attracted a lot of attention in the Netherlands recently. It is mentioned regularly on television and from Sunday 14 January there is a ‘Curling Quiz’ programme on Dutch television, which is being broadcast on prime time, just after the news at 20:00 (Central European Time) on Sunday evenings for seven weeks. In the quiz, two teams have to answer questions and the correct answer gives them the right to throw stones. With this exposure the Dutch curling clubs are hoping to be able to register lots of new curlers. More news from our Member Associations can be found on our website...
