Arbel Rules of Behavior National Park Use marked trails only. The trail to the scenic lookout is comfortable and accessible to and Nature Reserve all walkers. The other trails are for experienced hikers only and require use of hand-holds and cables installed at the site. The ‘red’ trail is recommended for descent to the fortress. The ‘black’ trail is recommended for ascent from the fortress. A recent trail map is recommended (Lower Galilee, the Valleys and the Gilboa). Do not go near the edge of the cliff. Beware of falling and rolling stones. On rainy days the trail is wet and slippery. Do not descend the cliff! Do not remain in or traverse the national park and nature reserve after dark. Rappelling and cliff-climbing is prohibited. Do not climb walls and ancient structures. Carry 3 liters of water per day per person. Do not depend on natural water sources for drinking. Wear walking shoes and a hat. Do not harm flora, fauna or inanimate objects. Keep the area clean. Do not bury or burn trash. Please take you trash out with you and dispose of it in a trash bin. Oral Evidence on Israel and Palestine by EST I am a Christian by religion, born in Nazareth, Israel to Arabic-speaking Christian parents and brought up in Kufur Yasief, the hiding place of Josephus Flavius. Persecution for Christians in Israel and Palestine is not on the scale it is in Egypt, but it is there nonetheless. It must be added that there is a growing number of Jewish-background, and Russian Christians in Israel, who suffer more persecution from the Jewish state and people. Most Arabic-speaking Christians in Israel, as in greater Syria, are of mixed blood and my genetic profile shows that I am: Middle East (Aleppo) 64% Europe South 24% Caucasus 8% European Jewish 4% This emphasizes the genetic mix of Arabic-speaking Christians from Israel/Palestine. Christian Arabs in Israel/Palestine live in a climate of fear and therefore hypocrisy. Pressure on Arabic-speaking Christians to tow the Muslim Arab nationalist line is so great, that we are even afraid of complaining about injustices against us. We suffer: • At the hands of Jews, because we are seen as: o Arabs: and so enemies, and primitive. o Christian: and so gentiles. WE are often blamed, by association, for the European holocaust. • At the hands of Muslims because we are Christian, and "infidels." We are often punished for “western” bias towards Israel. Christian Arabs are persecuted by 4 groups: • The Israeli State • Jews • Muslims • Christian Zionists Persecution by the state of Israel The Israeli state officially does not distinguish between Christian and Muslim. The Jewish 'nation state' law (June 2018) simply discriminates against the Arabs of Israel regardless of faith: 1. -

Abstract Jewish-Israeli settlements built over the State of Israel’s internationally-recognised territorial borders are sites of contestation. The focus of this thesis is upon conflicts and contestations which have developed between the State of Israel and some of its own subjects, Jewish settlers, over the evacuation of settlement-communities and structures, and other perceived threats to settlement. From 2008, a new form of violence has been enacted by individuals in the settler community. Self-declared as Price-Tag violence, the attacks take different forms. These include vandalising Palestinian properties and spraying provocative graffiti, and throwing Molotov cocktails at properties. Whilst the attacks are predominantly perpetrated upon Palestinian targets, the attacks are directed at the State of Israel. Price-Tag attacks have also occurred directly on Israeli targets, such as Israeli military vehicles. -

The rupture of 1948 and the ‘ethnic cleansing’ of the Nakba are central to both the Palestinian society of today and Palestinian social history and collective identity. This article explores ways of remembering and commemorating the Nakba. It deals with the issue within the context of Palestinian oral history, ‘social history from below’, narratives of memory and the formation of collective identity. With the history, rights and needs of the Palestinian refugees being excluded from recent Middle East peacemaking efforts and with the failure of both the Israeli state and the international community to acknowledge the Nakba, ‘1948’ as an ‘ethnic cleansing’ continues to underpin the Palestine-Israel conflict. -
