Tabards developed from the cloth surcoats worn by crusader knights over their chain‐mail armor. Though originally plain, from about 1300 on‐ wards these garments began to incor‐ porate the bearerʹs arms, sometimes in seme’ across the coat but generally as single arms worked across the front and back. The same weekend we have the Stewart Hume Gene McCracken immensely popular, Caledonian Club’s Highland Games. The “Dynamic Bruce McMillan Duo”, James Beatty and Eli Sturm man the Society’s Tent, with great en‐ James M. Robertson, AIA‐E thusiasm and success in bringing in new members. You must stay for the Trustees Emeritus— finale, the marching of the massed pipe bands, brings a tear to the eye. John B.
