Happy New Year, thank you for downloading our 2021 Sterling pupae price list and forms.

Last year was a challenge for everyone and the damage caused by the pandemic to the Butterfly trade was considerable. Many facilities were forced to close their doors to the public and therefore received no income. We ourselves had to shut for seven months out of twelve and as I write in January there is no sign of us being allowed to open in the next two months at least. This hardship has been multiplied in the situation of our suppliers as they have no government support. IABES did manage to get some financial support to them during the first extensive lockdown but spread over many breeders it could not replace the income they get from their pupae. Along with problems here and at source the airline industry is really struggling and getting what pupae we can use, onto a suitable flight has caused us many a sleepless night telephoning Asia at one extreme and South America at the other. At one point we could only take one supplier each week and supply a mix of pupae from that country to our customers. We are doing this now for the few houses that can be open. Not ideal for those of you who would prefer to order species by species. However, we trust that we will come out of this global problem and be able revert to normal sometime during the spring.

We still guarantee that all our pupae conform to all international standards and comply with all current legislation.

We have had a very small price increase this year mainly because of increased airfreight and the ever-rising costs of getting the pupae cleared at Heathrow.

We will continue to offer discounted pupae when our breeders produce a significant amount of a particular species. Look out for this on our weekly list. Also, we will now discount bulk orders of two Caligo species C. memnon and C. eurilochus by 20p when 50 or more are ordered.

If you prefer to order off our weekly availability list, then we can email it to you if we have your email address. There is also the option to buy via the website www.tropicalbutterflypupae.com Please be aware that our pupae sell out very quickly so if you leave your order until the following week, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to fulfil your specific order. We can normally provide a mix if specific species are not necessary.

All prices are in £ sterling. Stratford-upon-Avon Butterfly Farm Ltd. reserves the right to change any or all stated prices as a result of currency fluctuations. VAT is charged at standard rate to all UK customers and to EU costumers there is no VAT to pay.

Tropical Pupae Cancellation Policy

If a customer wishes to cancel their pupae order it is important that advance notice of at least 72 hours is given before the shipping date, allowing the butterfly farm time to resell the pupae. Pupae orders must be cancelled over the phone, Mon - Sun, Tel: 01789 299288 or via email [email protected]. The customer will receive an email of cancellation. Under this policy cancellations under 72 hours of the shipping date will be considered but does not guarantee cancellation. The customer will receive an email confirming if the cancellation was possible. An order cannot be cancelled if the order has already been shipped, the customer will be invoiced for the order. Refunds will not be issued if the order was prepaid. By placing an order, customers agree to Stratford-upon-Avon Butterfly Farms cancellation policy for tropical pupae.

During COVID-19 pandemic advance notice of at least 1 week for all orders and cancellations is required. Orders will be made specifically for each customer and once they leave the supplier we will not be able to cancel them.

Pupae

Availability cannot be guaranteed for any given species at any given time. Should we be unable to deliver a particular species we will include a suitable substitute unless otherwise directed. All pupae are quality checked during packing and despatched in A1 condition. Any claims for losses or damage in transit must be sent within 24 hours of arrival. After this time no claims will be permitted. The minimum number of pupae per shipment is 50 for UK and 100 for international parcels. Any orders under this will be subject to a handling charge of £6.00 (UK) /£25.00 (International) To avoid extra charges and to save on delivery costs we recommend double order every 2 weeks.
