th Indeed – Meat Is Murder 30 Anniversary Tour Saturday 7th March at 8pm Tickets £14 (Concessions £12.50) Box Office: 01905 611427 www.huntingdonhall.co.uk

Celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Meat Is Murder with the world's most popular Smiths tribute band - The Smiths Indeed.

The Smiths Indeed formed in 2005, after a deceptively placed advertisement – “Singer needed to front smiths cover band. Must be talented. Gigs waiting” – caught the eye of an ambitious aficionado. The band consists of Smiths devotees, all of whom are talented professional musicians in their own right. But the band’s real trump card has to be a lead singer and frontman with uncannily similar vocal chords to 's – in spite of the fact that he was too young to have seen the Smiths himself the first time around.

The Smiths Indeed don’t like to take themselves too seriously, but they are certainly serious about getting the music right. The band strives to transport audiences back to the eighties, accurately re-creating the experience of a Smiths concert both musically and vocally. After all, when paying tribute to a band described by critics as the most important band to emerge from the British independent music scene of the 1980s, and named “most influential artist ever” in a 2002 NME poll (even topping The Beatles), it’s important to get it right.

Having quickly gained a reputation for delivering excellent live shows, the band has now toured extensively around the UK, the USA and Europe, playing to full capacity audiences of Smiths fans old and new. Their current tour celebrates the 30th anniversary of The Smiths’ iconic second , Meat Is Murder – the band’s only album (barring compilations) to reach number one in the UK charts, and the slightly more strident and political follow up to their debut, including the pro-vegetarian title track, the light-hearted republicanism of Nowhere Fast, and the anti-corporal punishment The Headmaster Ritual.

The Smiths Indeed offer a fantastic night of nostalgia for those who remember those distant days in the mid-1980s when The Smiths lit up the world of popular music. For those who weren't even born then, or perhaps were otherwise engaged, this is a great opportunity to witness what it might have been like to see The Smiths live. Apportez vos fleurs.
