Finestra Sul Mare is situated in western Sicily, just a short drive away from Sicily’s incredible coastline. There is a wide array of beaches nearby, from white sandy shores to smooth pebble alcoves, many packed with stalls selling all sorts of treats.

There are lots of different restaurants and bars within driving distance, where you can try some local Sicilian cuisine accompanied by a glass of red wine. For those chilled-out nights back at the villa, you can pop to the nearby supermarket (11km) to pick up any supplies.

Castellammare del Golfo is a vibrant Sicilian town that’s definitely worth a visit. Its name means “Sea fortress on the Gulf”, thanks to the medieval fortress in the harbour. With an alluring bathing beach, tennis courts and an incredible sulphur and sulphate mineral spring, there is plenty to get up to as well as some good restaurants.

Sicily’s coastline is wonderful to explore, offering amazing sites such as the Scopello rocks and Zingaro Nature Park. The protected area stretches across the shore and is home to a wide array of wildlife. San Vito Lo Capo (40km) is a great place to visit for its white-washed houses, pilgrim chapel, sandy beaches and restaurants serving delicious cous cous.

You’ll find lots of lovely towns and villages along the coast, including (35km), where you can catch a ferry to the beautiful Aegadian islands after admiring the town’s panoramic views. Combine with a trip to the historic town of Erice, accessed via cable car from Trapani, with its two castles to discover.

If you are a fan of history, you’ll love exploring the region’s cultural landmarks and historic buildings dotted around. Segesta is worth a visit, with its fascinating Greek theatre and temple or drive east to the magnificent city of Palermo, just over an hour away.

When you’re not learning about Sicily’s in-depth past, you can explore the wonderful landscape, taste the delicious food and immerse yourself in the culture.

- Security deposit: €500 paid in cash to the owner upon arrival and refunded upon departure, subject to full inspection.

- Arrival time: 4.00 p.m - 7.00 p.m.

- Departure time: 10.00 am.

- Pets welcome?: Not allowed.

- Changeover day: Flexible.

- End of stay cleaning included?: Yes. However, guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or rubbish disposal required will be charged against the security deposit.

- Smoking Allowed?: Outside only.

- Minimum stay: 5 nights.

- Tax: Italian Visitors Tax payable locally in cash (typically costs €1-€3 per adult per night- please enquire if exact amount is required).

- Pool opening dates?: The pool is open approximately April to October. Please note that pool opening dates are subject to local weather conditions and pool maintenance requirements and that cooler months may not be suitable for swimming.
