Inquirer (Perth, WA : 1840 - 1855), Wednesday 11 July 1849, page 2 We regret to announce that, since our last issue, the colony has, by the death of Samuel Moore, Esq., lost another valued member of its community, and one who had partaken of the dangers and privations incident to its formation. As an active and stirring man of business, he was well known to the settlers generally, and by them much esteemed. Mr. S. Much disappointment and annoyance was expressed by the numerous friends of the deceased that, owing to some negligence or inattention, the time appointed and given out for the funeral to take place, was anticipated by an hour, and that, in consequence, numbers were deprived of an opportunity of paying the last tribute of respect to the remains of one they had so much esteemed when living. The lamented deceased was a Justice of the Peace for this colony and member of the Legislative Council, and has left a widow with five young children to deplore the loss of a kind and affectionate husband and father.
