Proudly Announces Master Classes taught by Broadway Performer BETSY WOLFE (The 25th Annual Putnum County Spelling Bee, 110 in the Shade, Wonderful Life) and BRYAN PERRI (Music Director of WICKED, Altar Boyz, teaching faculty at CAP21 and NYU). Betsy and Bryan will offer their vast knowledge of audition and performance technique, musical theatre history and styles, as well as share their extensive song repertoire. This workshop will build your performance strength and confidence, and maximize your appeal to casting directors and/or college conservatories. Whether you're auditioning for colleges or simply looking to work on your craft, this class will be an invaluable experience! At the end of each 2.5 hour Master Classes, there will be a Q and A with Betsy and Bryan as well as a special musical performance, and both class participants and observers are welcome to the Q and A and performance. Where: Tulare County Office of Education Doe Avenue Complex Sequoia Room, 7000 Doe Avenue, Visalia, CA When: Thursday, December 17, 2009 (3 classes) ¾ Class #1: 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. ¾ Class #2: 4:45 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. ¾ Class #3: 7:30 p.m.-10 p.m. Who: Open to performers 14 years and older Fee: $90 per participant (Participants will receive individualized training and feedback) $50 to Audit (Auditors will learn through observation & participation in Q & A session) To Participate (limit 10 participants per class): • Prepare a song in the standard musical theatre repertoire (under 3 minutes preferred). We suggest that you avoid songs from Wicked, Phantom, and other blockbuster shows. Be creative--select something that really speaks to YOU! Space is VERY limited. BETSY WOLFE just finished starring alongside TR Knight (Greys Anatomy) in a workshop of the Broadway aimed revival of On a Clear Day You Can See Forever. She recently completed the critically acclaimed Everyday Rapture at Second Stage and can be heard on the Original Cast Recording soon to be released. Broadway credits include 110 IN THE SHADE at Studio 54, THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE, and WONDERFUL LIFE. She can also be heard on the 110 IN THE SHADE Original Broadway Cast recording. Ms. Wolfe starred in the San Francisco and Boston companies of THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE. Regional- TOMMY (Mrs. Walker) at Dallas Theatre Center, RAGTIME (Evelyn Nesbitt) at Paper Mill Playhouse and ACE (Louise) at the Old Globe Theatre. She has been a guest artist for Symphony, Pops and Philharmonic Orchestras across the US and made her NY concert debut at Carnegie Hall as a headliner with the Cincinnati Pops under Maestro Erich Kunzel. She was a guest soloist for the New York City Ballet where she performed at Lincoln Center and at The Coliseum in London. She can also be seen on PBS in the Lincoln Center production of CAMELOT. She holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. (CCM). 2. BRYAN PERRI is currently the Music Director and conductor for the San Francisco production of WICKED. National Tours: WICKED (Music Director, 1st national), ALTAR BOYZ (Music Director). Other Credits as Music Director: BEHIND THE LIMELIGHT (New York Music Theater Festival & New York Stage Film), IS THERE LIFE AFTER HIGH SCHOOL? (York Theater-directed by author Craig Carnelia) THE GOOD WAR (York Theater Reading), DECEMBER SONGS, LOVE LETTERS (CCM), I’LL BE SEEING YOU (Kimmel Center, Philadelphia), Summer Songs (Firebird), NYU special events (performing throughout the US and Europe) and numerous others. He has also performed in concerts across the country at such venues as the Rainbow Room, the Bottomline, and various Fox theaters. Bryan received his M.M. in orchestral conducting on a full fellowship to the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) and has also served on the teaching faculty at CAP21 and as vocal coaching faculty at NYU’s Stenhardt School where he received his B.M. in vocal performance. He was also seen on Ugly Betty- conducting the Wicked LA orchestra. Space is VERY limited. Registration will be processed on a first come, first served basis.
