DIRECTOR’S NOTES

We are so appreciative to have the opportunity to present our season of work this year, albeit under different circumstances. While we’ve had to make a few adjustments, we have still been able to grow and develop as artists. We’ve also learned how to let go so we could embrace new possibilities.

That idea is at the core of . This show tells the story of two people who love each other very much but realize that love isn’t enough if there is not also trust and support. We hear their stories told inversely: Jaime’s from beginning to end and Cathy’s from end to beginning.

Traditionally, this show is cast with two performers. We chose to cast each song with a different performer to not only provide more opportunities for our amazingly talented students but also to reinforce the idea that this story does not just belong to these two characters; their story is familiar and, sadly, common.

Thank you as always for supporting PLU Theatre and Dance!

—Tom Smith, Director
