War Memorials are defined as plaques, gardens or parks dedicated to individuals who were killed in conflict or on active service. Where a person is recorded on a gravestone but their body is not present then that addition is seen as a War Memorial. None of these are in the following list. A Memorial to an individual who served in conflicts, but which listed other achievements and accomplishments over a life-time would not be recognised as a War Memorial as it was erected primarily to commemorate the individual.
