Two of England’s greatest theatre companies cast their lustre on .

A cast of 22 powerful, energetic and marvellously performing actors from the internationally acclaimed London companies PROPELLER and SHAKESPEARE’S GLOBE are coming for the very first time to Castle, to delight audiences in the castle courtyard with three fabulous theatre experiences in the open air. World-class comedy and drama that will enthuse audiences of all ages.

The international prize-winning company PROPELLER arrives directly from its world tour, bringing innovation, energy and humour to Kronborg. This is theatre made accessible to everyone which is what PROPELLER excels at doing. The dust gets blown away from the cover of the book making the whole story clear. In their always thoroughly musical and humorous productions all the roles are played by men. PROPELLER led by the brilliant director Edward Hall will visit Kronborg with RICHARD III and THE COMEDY OF ERRORS, which are guaranteed to surprise and take the audience by storm.

“See the gloriously entertaining THE COMEDY OF ERRORS or the bloody RICHARD THE THIRD separately and you will have a marvellous evening, but see them both and you will have the sense of a world driven by madness and violence.” Lyn Gardner -

SHAKESPEARE’S GLOBE continues the feast at the castle with a raw, elemental and moving new version of HAMLET with the rising star Joshua McGuire in the title role, as the indecisive prince.

“ Joshua made his debut at the Royal Court in 2010 and plays one of the leading roles in BBC’s new TV series The Hour with Ben Wishaw and Dominic West”.

THE COMEDY OF ERRORS is a hilariously funny production. A story of misunderstanding and swapped twins. From the first moment the scene is set for fun with fruit cocktails, Spanish guitar and song - a glorious universe of crazy humour, funny ideas and a quite exceptional gallery of characters. Before you even find your seat, you begin to smile. The action quickly gathers speed and the complications get funnier and funnier. In the interval too you are entertained by a screamingly funny potpourri of 80’s hits ranging from an a cappella version of “Billie Jean” to “Like a Virgin” arranged for tuba. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hg5GAfvPlqY&feature=player_profilepage

RICHARD III is a horror story about power, treason and serial murder - a story told with music and a glint in the eye. In this production the body bags pile up in the hospital where Richard in cold blood murders his way to the throne. We watch with horror and a shudder of delight when Richard slaughters his opponents with a chainsaw, drowning, cannibalism or other forms of mutilation. Richard is a charming psychopath, shrewd, convincing and dangerous – at the end, though, most to himself. A horribly entertaining and devilish experience which tells the story of a man’s ascent to heaven and return down to hell. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_profilepage&v=7TK5x47u-3w

HAMLET is a fantastic story about a young man’s journey into adulthood where he has to learn to stand on his own two feet. He is confronted by a chaotic and manifold world which requires him to take a personal view on blood revenge, a longing for freedom, corruption of power, political intrigues, love, sexual obsession, philosophical reflection, violent actions, tragedy and wild comedy. Great issues which unfold in a sensual universe inspired by classic Elizabethan theatre, where the actors consciously dissolve the divide between themselves and the audience, in order to create the greatest possible involvement. A different and exciting approach to theatre, which Danish audiences do not often have the opportunity to experience.
