Nathan Falla) Weston - 9.30am (Rev. Pauline Salter) A message from Superintendent Rev. Pauline Salter We are entering a very important phase of the circuit’s life. As I type, the profiles for new presbyters have been submitted. In the next few weeks presbyters will receive the information on all the available circuits for September 2018. Please pray for the process that the right people who feel called by God to work in Stafford show interest and are matched with us. Please pray for Nathan, Hannah, Theo and Abigail as they seek guidance on which appointments to show an interest in. As well as these specific prayers we need to continue to uphold the work of our churches in prayer. The day of prayer and fasting on September 1st was an inspirational time. It led me to think that we should set aside more time for prayer together as a circuit. There is a focus on vocation in the Methodist District this year and praying, as well as being part of our normal devotional life is a vocation. So look out for new initiatives throughout the year. The preaching plan covers Advent and Christmas. This is a very special time in the Christian year. We remember that our saviour Jesus became one of us. He is not a far off, he is not made of wood or stone, he was flesh and blood. He is Emmanuel, God with us, not just on Christmas Day but every day of the year. THE PLAN FOR STAFFORD BOROUGH BOROUGH-WIDE DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY Introduction The Stafford Borough area is facing a period of unprecedented change in terms of what our towns, villages and countryside will look like in the future, how land will be developed and used as well as making sure new services and facilities such as health, education and leisure activities are provided to the local community. The Council needs your assistance to decide what the area will look like for future generations before work begins with other organisations to make the future plan for Stafford Borough a reality. It’s time to make some choices. This discussion paper does not have all the answers, which is why the Council needs your response to the following:- • What do you want Stafford Borough to look like in 20 years time? • How should places such as the County Town of Stafford, the market town of Stone and the rural areas change when new development takes place? • Are there any areas of the Borough which should have less change because of their distinctive character? • What issues and objectives do you have for the area? • Where should new housing and employment development be built and what level of new services and facilities needs providing as community support? • What land should be built on for housing and employment development?
