Last week we witnessed a great result against Formartine United and anyone who was at the game would agree we were deserving winners and that Scott Barbour’s goal was fit to win any match. It would be disappointing to score a goal like that and not end up on first aid etc. not to mention the visitor’s bus costs, there will be very little if anything left to split. the winning side. How pleased were you with the guys and what did you think was the difference on the day? It was a very pleasing day and it was great to get my first victory over them in the league. I thought my guys were immense and took the challenge head on and ran out the better team in the end. We had to survive a fair bit of pressure from Formartine in the opening 15 really good standard. Like I said previously we were minutes but once we got through that I felt we took under quite a bit of pressure for the opening 15 minutes control. We were very disciplined in our play and picked last week however throughout that spell Eddie’s the right moments when to attack with pace and when handling was superb as was his kicking. It’s important to be patient. In the end it was only three points, but I that you have a confident keeper at any time but think the victory means more in a psychology front to especially when your goal is up against it a bit. He was a us. big factor in us getting through that period which set us up to go on and win the game. He has a lot of the tools to be a very good keeper in this league. I know you don’t like to pick out any individuals especially after a great team performance but how pleasing was it to have Mikey Rae back in the middle Today sees another difficult test against a Rothes of the park who seemed to be everywhere during the team who have improved over the past year or so. game? That said they haven’t been in action for a few weeks due to the weather, does that make much of a I don’t think it’s fair to single any one out after that difference in your opinion? performance because everyone had a job and each one did it to the letter, including the subs who came on It can work either way. In one sense it could leave you rusty due to lack of game time but I will assume they when they were needed. I won’t hide the fact that we have missed Michael in the team. His work rate and will have managed to get a friendly organised to help tenacity more often than not sets the tone for our prepare them for this game. On the other hand the performances. When available he is one of the first break allows any players who are injured or who have names on the teamsheet and I think the biggest little niggles to recover more and thus be available for compliment he can take is how much his team mates games. I don’t think it will have much bearing on the were glad to have him back on the park. He isn’t the outcome of this game. Rothes have invested heavily in type to enjoy not being able to play but hopefully that is the past year or two and have an ambitious owner who him past his injury spell and we can see him on the park wants them to go places. They have a lot of very good players, especially in the forward areas so they will pose in our black and white for a long time yet. a threat. We are coming off the back of a very good Another player who came to the fore was Edward result so I will be putting that to the players to go and Flinn who made some excellent stops at crucial times replicate last week’s performance and do everything to and looked confident throughout, how well do you get another result. The game will be just as big of a test think he is progressing into a keeper at Highland as the Formartine one however we came through that League level? well so hopefully the guys perform again giving them a better chance of keeping the points at Bellslea. I think Eddie has done really well since he has come into All the Best, the side. He has had to be patient but has grabbed his chance since it came along. He is still young and learning but his performances so far have been of a Mark Fraserburgh FC Official Matchday Programme CCAAPPTTAAIINN’’SS CCOORRNNEERR Afternoon folks, start on a positive from our win last week which was more than deserved, it was a tight first half but in the second we dominated it and had the clearer chances throughout, to a man we were outstanding. That’s how we need to perform on a weekly basis if we want to challenge for the honours so it’s a good insight on how we need to prepare and then perform.
