Citizens no longer look to government for all the answers, and indeed, even if government had all the answers, they do not have all the money. Charities and non-profit organizations are forever challenged to maintain a level of funding that enables them to solve long-term, complex social and environmental issues. Within the philanthropic circles, terms such as venture philanthropy, impact investing and social finance are becoming part of the everyday conversation. These forms of social finance are becoming new approaches foundations and other donors are embracing and eager to implement. Mr. John Hastings from RBC Dominion Securities will host a panel filled with leaders from RBC, Community Foundations of Canada, as well as a leader in Nunavut to discuss how philanthropy is evolving. 12:00 pm Opening Luncheon with Hon.
