Discussion ensued relevant to: • The importance of the relationship that had been built between BIM, TAC, and key executives at BC Ferries including Mark Collins, the current CEO; • The need to acknowledge the work that BC Ferries had done the previous year at TAC’s request and to respect BC Ferries’ plan to replace the shelter in 2021; • The usefulness of the shelter versus its aesthetics, particularly when the weather was cold, wet and windy. The Committee was concerned that proper process be followed and that the relationship that had been developed with BC Ferries be respected. The Committee concluded that as their mandate was more about practicality than aesthetics, they would like to see evidence that the shelter was not being used by commuters before making recommendations about its removal.
