When it comes to honoring the art of dance Saleemah E. Knight has spent her young life training, performing, and all-in-all immersing herself in the discipline she loves. Known throughout the industry as one of the go to dancers when skill, beauty, and professionalism are needed, Saleemah is one of Hollywood’s most sought after performers.
Saleemah E. E. Saleemah Knight 2011 Most recently seen in the Disney Broadway Musical the ‘Lion King’, Saleemah has performed with some of today’s top entertainers including Chris Brown, Akon, Tyrese, Jamie Foxx, Ludacris, the Pussycat Dolls, and Beyonce just to name a few. Her technical training has allotted her the opportunity to dance with such notables as the River North Chicago Dance Company, Gus Giordano, Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, and Donald Byrd. Whether it’s on stage or featured in music video’s her presence radiates energy and excitement to all who watch her dance. Not limited to dance she is also in demand as a choreographer, fitness expert, and actress.
A dancer since the age of 3, Saleemah has trained in various disciplines such as Ballet, Modern, Jazz, and Hip Hop dance throughout her childhood and teenage years. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Arizona, Dance Division and is currently pursuing her Masters of Fine Arts from the University of California, Irvine, where she attends on a full academic scholarship while teaching undergraduate dance courses.
Her skill as a performer has lead to the receipt of several honors including the University of Arizona’s Medici Fine Arts Scholarship, the Brian Friedman Millennium Dance Scholarship, the Gus Giordano Scholarship, Coca Cola’s Leadership Scholarship, along with several fellowships and awards from UCI’s Claire Trevor School of the Arts.
